Ronaldo should also have received a red for his childish behaviour after he had fouled his opponent. He then kicked the ball with force when it was lodged in the stomach of his opponent. In today's game, that is not only reckless but also endangering the safety of an opponent and constituted Violent Conduct. He knew exactly what he was doing and had the boot been on the other foot with Ashley Barnes or some other player from a lesser club doing that to Ronaldo ---we would never have heard the end of it!

He even had to be told to go and look at the Pogba challenge on the box, he must not have deemed what he saw with his own eyes dangerous or reckless, in which case you have to wonder why he's ever let near a referee's whistle. His liner must have had a good view as well, before bottling the red and showing Pogba the yellow card, could he not have gone over and discussed it with his liner. This is fairly standard practice down at Clitheroe's level, why did he not do that ?

He's a lily livered excuse of a referee that's why sinkov. Whenever I watched Burnley live in the recent past playing in the EPL and he was the referee, you just think, "here we go again" and that should be impossible to consider at this level.

Simple answer ------VAR the scourge of modern elite football! It has stopped officials from doing the job and they are relying on technology. It is what the establishment and the media want but it does nothing for the game.

There were no complaints from anyone, that's the way it should work and everyone accepted it. 90% of the time VAR causes more problems than it solves.

VAR is a gimmick Sinkov.The world loves gimmicks.You can almost feel the tension when it is announced that VAR are reviewing a goal or a foul.Personally I want to puke.They are basically undermining the referees.They should only be used in examples like Lampard`s goal in the South Africa World Cup and offsides.
