It doesn’t look like we have more possession, we do have more possession.
Based on your view ‘most of the games get played in our half’. The fact that we’ve only lost one game and won 4 out of 8, our approach must be effective.
Moving onto splashing the cash, did Barrow, Sutton, Harrogate and Hartlepool do that?
He's really annoying me too.
He's bang on about the possession and not needing to splash the cash to win the league. However in an attempt to knock him off his logical, correct, hit the nail on the head perch can I suggest we are effective yet not entirely unconvincing so far this season in most games?
Although the league table and result don't lie.
The fact is, if you wander into enemy territory only once but score a goal then defend successfully for the rest of the game, eleven men back, just booting the ball anywhere, the stats will show you had little possession but the football was played mostly in your half.
Leicester won the Premier League with the least overall percentage of possession than any other Premiership champions before, with 42.4%
In the context of this discussion, I don’t understand the point your now trying to make. Your original point, in your previous post was with reference to having more possession but made suggested it was mainly in our own half? Your top comment now refers to little possession. I understand that Leicester were successful with less possession.
Leicester’s success goes against the trend. Majority of successful teams have majority of possession. You need the ball to score, so from an attacking and defensive perspective, the more possession you have the more likely you are to win.
Genuinely interested in the point you are trying to make in terms of Notts.
Listening to IB at the forum I loved his answer to the first question regarding passing out from the back, informative for all in attendance.
I also liked the fact that he confirmed that the passing at the back hasn't resulted directly in many (or any) goals against this season. Even though this regularly gets quoted on here how dangerous it is and how likely we are going to concede as a result of this style of play. In reality , to date , it just doesn't happen.
Perhaps we just need to mix it up a little more with our patterns of play, and occasionally surprise all by going direct early with purposeful runners of big Kyle.
This fans forum was far superior to those I used to attend in the Meadow Club back in the day with a Uncle Colin on a dodgy intermittent microphone and cringe worthy questions and nodding dogs in attendance. Although occasionally things got interesting with a disgruntled fan heckling and storming off at the half time interval. Those forums were always better when the sh!t had hit the fan off and/or on the pitch.
