Young players might get deflated by being controlled like that, let them breathe. IB will probably get their with more experience but if the stats and methods control players' expression and joy of the game and then that's a net negative I think.
I really didn’t see it like that, that’s not to say your view is incorrect. Burchnall suggested to Ruben that he should practice less free kicks and gave the reasons why. I thought it was excellent coaching and attention to detail.

I'm not entirely sure of the connection with our head coach as I haven't really studied the similarity between his eyes and flowers but Camellia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Theaceae. They are found in eastern and southern Asia, from the Himalayas east to Japan and Indonesia. [Source: Wikipedia]

Tea is produced from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis bush.

I think that some of us aren’t convinced with what we are seeing on the pitch, and the potential is there for it to go horribly wrong.

You can have all the data you want but you can’t buy experience, and with having experience you can then use the data effectively. TBH I think IB is a little naive to think it’s just 11 players against 11. He needs to do a lot more to convince me he is the right man for the job.

The reply from IB went something along the lines of, statistically most goals scored are one-touch into the net. It came across to me that the players are encouraged to keep the passing going until they can score like Arsenal rather than shoot. Don’t know if anyone else remembers that and if they read it as I did.
I think your summary of what IB said is pretty accurate.

He's probably right on the stats, but are those stats from the National League or from much higher?

Creative people can get buried in details!
If someone's keen, I think you should hesitate before telling them to practise less...
Viewers will react to that clip differently for sure. To me it jarred as something not quite right.

That's true, but I think the potential is also there for it to go amazingly right. If we can find the ideal mix between playing on paper and playing on the pitch, we won't go far wrong.

Perhaps Ruben feels we need a specialist free-kicker and as he takes the penalties (Roberts, are you there?) it's just a sideways step to improve his dead-ball kicking.

I’m of the thought money alone won’t get us out of this league. Last 2 promoted were Sutton and Barrow and I think it’s a sensible assumption they didn’t have top 6 budgets. I believe the key in this league is consistent performances, sounds daft, but players at this level can be erratic. You need a team with players mainly getting 7s each week, their not world beaters and I think it’s more a case of cutting down bad performances than increasing brilliant performances. Up to now I would say Notts have been pretty consistent, I wouldn’t say we have had one bad performance in that we were terrible, hence why we have lost only one game and by one goal so I do have a bit of hope.
