The owners will say we want to play a certain style so that is why they got IB in if he doesnt get results they bring the next coach in but it will be same style.

A few years stuck in the NL could see our fans get toxic and force the owners out then where does that leave us ???
I think the big issue here is if the owners and supporters expectations are the same, after getting rid of NA when we did I’m not convinced they are.

What a weird game. Good, solid 70 minutes, where we did things I hadn’t seen us do this season, pick up the 2nd balls, keep decent opponents at arms length, and attack with pace and intention, particularly in the form of Nemane who looks like the sort of winger we’ve had a few of at Notts and I love to watch. Well worked goal as well.

Well on top in the second half, but we just have a overwhelming lack of killer instinct in the opposition box which is enough to keep opponents in the game, and they took full advantage when the no 11 came on, tore Brindley a new one, and everything fell to pieces.

Has to be said, something like today has been threatening all season, the teams we’ve played just haven’t been good enough to do it. Woking are a stereotypical good side at this level, physical, quick, do their best work in both boxes, and good at the set pieces. Why we at Notts think we’ll win promotion by often doing none of those things I’m not quite sure.

Right from the start of the season I've given 3 reasons why I don't think we'll succeed:

    1. We concede too many soft goals.
    2. We are lightweight in midfield and are too easy to play against.
    3. Our style of play seems based more on stats and analytics than what's needed to get you out of the National League.

Today only reinforced that opinion. For 70 minutes we didn't look in any real trouble, but once they equalised the way we fell apart was embarrassing. In short, they wanted it far more than we did. They grew in confidence, we hid. I don't know why they resorted to all the time wasting and play acting near the end, if they had gone at us we were in such disarray they could have ended up with 5 or 6.

What about actual performances? How did Wootton perform? JOB? What actually went wrong for the goals? You know concrete stuff, not these fantasies about hard men, 'monsters' etc.

I'm going to Halifax, can't wait to see for myself

Wooters was ''average'', but the poor service he received didn't help. JOB misplaced more passes than an absent minded cartographer. I actually though Mitchell was decent on the left wing and Nemane was well worth his MOM award for his efforts on the right. Midfield, Palmer made some decent passes and had some nice touches. I couldn't tell you who else was playing in midfield as they went unnoticed, at least by me. Defence looked ok-ish till the goal rush happened when they were simply out muscled and made to look very pedestrian by a typical, physical Non-League forward line.

    Both are to get promoted.

The problem is the NL is the hardest to get out of in terms of you have to win the league to be certain of going up.

We knew this when we went down but I think some fans thought we would be back straight away.

We could be here for a while yet but lets hope not.

I've never stopped worrying about the 2nd on your list. The depth and options just aren't there. It's like a return for Doyle has been deliberately written into the script! The calls haven't come yet but I fear they're not too far away. And it's not the kind of problem you can easily fix in the loan market.
I still think we can put a good NL defence out there and an attack with goals in them. He's just going to have to cobble together a midfield 3 that can muddle through. Going to be a millstone which will drag down our chances

Our midfield is the weakest it has been for ages, we have no physical presence and no height. Because of this, we never win any first or second balls. The style of play is not suited to this league, when will the penny drop ???... Chesterfield must be having a right laugh at us for signing Mitchell, absolute dire performance, but somehow managed to stay on the whole game.. I wonder what excuse will be given for that load of crap...

Strikers are judged on goals. so he needs one or two soon.

IB won't change his philosophy of total football.

Frustrating thing is we had the opportunity to go straight back up.

Yep that performance against Harrogate was just like the Bradford one a complete disgrace.
