But this season, with a poorer squad (exception being Jags added to defence - well done Wayne and team), he's got something good going on, and deserves credit, notwithstanding his personal credit to be professional whilst Mel was playing snakes and ladders with the club.
The end to the season was poor, 1 win in 15. He got lucky because if we'd sacked him we would have struggled to get anybody, never mind anybody half decent, in to replace him.

Prior to that poor run he had a run that was about as good as the end of the season was bad. Thankfully we've started this season well. He's done well with the signings. Let a fair few promising kids go so we had room to get the 5 senior bodies in within the 23 man allowance the EFL have given us. Got the best out of everybody. Handles the press well. Gets all of his sound bytes right. As things stand, I'm glad we didn't get rid in the summer.
