    Spiking

Is it just me or is anyone else thinking this is all over the news deliberately? As if the nightlife industry isn’t suffering enough all women are now staying in as a protest. Then you get all the business in solidarity showing support by issuing free calls or safe haven place, everyone jumping on the bandwagon. We’ve seen this sort of stuff before. The hype and hysteria that’s coming. I’m all for women safety and any sick bar steward involved spiking in this shouldn’t be sentenced to a ‘gentle’ beating.
Sure while the headlines do the rounds these culprits would have thought twice. But yet the media are out to feed this to as if it happened in 9/10 pubs? It’s another distraction attempt by the media.

Courts in this country too soft Regis! Anybody spiking drinks should get 6 months minimum prison sentence and named and shamed!

I do believe in stricter sentences and where a person is 100% guilty of murder like the Sarah Everard murderer - he should be executed-by a firing range.

Anybody who has obtained a British passport as an immigrant should also sign a declaration that any criminal activity will result in the forfeit of citizenship.

Harsh - not really as we need to be tough!

    Good post Regis.

Yet another bandwagon for the media to jump on and flog to death.

My daughters were in their “going out” ****s in the late 90’s and through the 2000’s......everyone has know about Rohypnol and date r a p e since that era.

Any woman not watching her drink or leaving it unattended is a fool, likewise any bloke.

Diane Abbott said she’s never encountered a problem with her drink and wondered what the hysteria is about!

This is a concern for me too as sometime in the future, my daughter will want to go out on the lash. But the current hysteria makes out that it’s just started going on. It’s been happening for a long time and only now they put this under the spotlight.

Anyway, someone who might be a criminal might well be aware of the current headlines and maybe thinking...i need to call this a day, but no.. increased incidents?

It does makes you wonder what’s brought this on by the media and all this interest all of a sudden.. to increase stop and search powers?

I thought the Everard case was a little knee jerk reaction based on mass protests during high covid. Yes it involved a cop. But then again for that Sabina… is it just women being killed?

No idea what the agenda is. But deep down I hope these incidents never happen.
If the media are trying to combat this, perhaps they should combat more.. how about fly tippers 😄

That piece of sh1t who murdered Sarah Everard is seeking permission to appeal his whole life sentence, it's a pity there isn't an option to, you know, take his sentence to another level.

You'd be amazed how easy it is to get your drink spiked.
