Curious, as I like to collect these random recollections......what end of the ground were you in?
It is interesting that many folk had their 'usual' place at Dens in those days when the vast majority of the crowd were patg. Season ticket holders had their seat in the stand and many patg punters had their spot that they stood at every game be it in the Stand, Stand enclosure, the covered south terracing or one of the two ends. While not being the type that changed ends at half time I had no regular spot in the ground varying from week to week and sometimes in several areas in the same game. Those were the days where entering anywhere other than the Stand or Stand enclosure meant that you could wander at will around three sides of the ground often passing the opposition support going in the other direction or even standing right next to them. You could also for a small fee pay through the odd little turnstile to move from the Provie end into the Stand enclosure. It was like the black hole of Calcutta, the passage way through. Not everything at Dens was in tip top condition in those days either.

Cheers guys I like these wee trivia type things.....not really important but it makes the memory as far as in concerned.

My first game was cup final 73.....I was 5.....just remember bits of the train and my dad leaping about on what I think we're benches in the wing stand at Hampden.

P.s.....I think people not getting to sit/stand with large groups of friends is a factor in killing the atmosphere these days.

I always went in at the provie rd end due to getting off the bus on Caird ave , but went behind whatever goal we were playing into , so often changed terraces twice in a game , I remember being in the T.C Keays end during the second half of the A.C,Milan game though , we were unlucky not claw that game back as well

Wolfgang Overath was the player in tears at the end, he was a massive player in Germany at one time, I was in the Provy, probably the best game of football I have ever attended.
