FAO users of the old Zone/Tiffanys car park on match days...

A good friend I know recently parked his van using the old Zone/Tiffanys car park on a match day. When he returned to his vehicle, someone had sawn off his catalytic converter (CAT) from his exhaust, yes in broad daylight!

He's made further enquiries and apparently he's one of several people this has happened to over the last few weeks. Surely someone owns this land and it should be patrolled on a regular basis?

Not trying to put folk off from parking there but, if you have CAT fitted to your vehicle, you may want to think twice about parking there. There's big money to be made in this racket as a replacement CAT, depending on the type of vehicle, runs from several hundreds to thousands of pounds to replace.

Another US fad catching on over there like Hoola Hoops and Snickers!

It's been a problem around here for about 18 months now with one scrap dealer (not Boothy I hasten to add) caught in the possession of over 5,000 that he had 'innocently' bought from unnamed sellers. Yeah! Rare metals in them make them easy targets for someone wanting a quick $25 for a 'fix'.

In fact I think I mentioned on here that one bloke is up for murder as he was sleeping in his truck, heard someone underneath sawing off his CAT and shot him through the floor.

Yes it's the rare metals in them that is causing this to escalate over here. Yep, don't mess with an American trucker

The laughable part is that when the cat was nicked there were probably dozens of coppers in or around that car park.

True. Especially as he isn't charged due to the shooting which didn't kill the guy. After shooting him he hog tied him to the truck and dragged him half a mile until he was dead. I think 'excessive force' was the term used

Actually modern Cats aren’t worth much as they don’t contain much PM, it’s the older ones that are the most valuable.
