My illusion of animal loving horsey types was shattered a while back when talking to a friend who has horses. When she was younger she worked at Newmarket and tells horrendous tales of how owners/trainers/jockeys treated some of the horses. Many were simply too afraid to whistleblow but a lot of this has recently all come out with photos of people smirking whilst sitting on a dead horse etc. This attitude has been going On for years. Well if she loses her rag with her horse like that who would want her near their young children? One day that horse will turn around and kick her and she'll certainly know about it then. Totally unacceptable behaviour.
