Ive had a battle Royale with my sons ex who insisted the grandson should be jabbed at school and he's only 11. Ive had to get a solicitor involved to halt this insanity and finally the school saw sense and was stopped. But no doubts his ex will try again shortly. My concern is the myocarditis issue which as affected many young people and it is not rare whatever the media say
I understand there are two main studies on myocarditis and the Pfizer vaccine. 136 in 5 million was found to have the condition in the one study, 54 in 2.5 million in the other. So about 0.0024%. It’s incredibly rare.

Had both barrels in one - the booster and the flu jab. A bit stiff in one arm and felt run down for day or so ... but did 18 holes carrying two days later ... so can’t have been that bad. I get all this “people shouldn’t be forced to take something they don’t want” ..... but the stats seem to indicate you are a fool if you don’t vaccinate ..... and taking a chance with your own health .... and in some cases the health of others ....

‘The term “rare” is now getting overly used imo. Id take no comfort if my grandson cops for myocarditis in one of these so called 'rare' events. In the USA for instance it was reported from the centre of disease control that they had 200 cases of myocarditis reported in June 2021 by October 2021 it stood at 10,304 cases that's an increase of 5,000 percent in 4 months. Shocking number even if 5 billion or 10 billion had taken the jab!!

This also assumes that all cases of myocarditis have been reported through the correct channels.

Previously on this thread is a line - "it doesn't stop you dying of it." If that were true then the death rates would be in the several hundreds at the low and much higher at the peak as was the case in January?

    And they’ve had 780,000 covid deaths…the irony.

Every one to their own. I had the jabs and booster but if friends and family don't want to for whatever reason - I stick my nose out as should everyone else. Covid jab or no Covid jab a person can still pass on the virus so can't understand why some get over involved. I already know of one family and the grandmother was telling the sons wife the kids should get the jab and was told to mind her own business - quite right too.

At Huddersfield in crowded pubs and a crowded stadium there will be lots not vaccinated and some even with Covid but that's life. If I cared, I would stay at home being a miserable b astard with a blanket over me. You got to have a life.

As mentioned elsewhere know a friend of a friend whose husband dropped dead of a heart attack and was very fit and didn't smoke or drink. Everyone carries a number and when it's called it's called so there's f uck all you can do about it.

Enjoy today there may not be a tomorrow as my late dad used to say. Now for a glass of red!

My point is you can still get and spread Covid after the jabs, so who are we protecting?
If the jab stopped you getting Covid and spreading it I would whole heartedly be behind the vaccine.
There is talk about sacking NHS staff who aren't jabbed at a time when they say that the NHS is overwhelmed, how do you explain that?
A patient is no safer from being treated by a vaccinated person than an unvaccinated one.
If the government was really concerned about people's lives they would have pumped money into the NHS years ago instead the workers got a 1% rise and a round of applause. It's just a step to privatisation when they can have all staff on a lead.
I never have the Flu jab because everyone I know who has it says that they feel rough for a few days but go for it again the next year. We are guinea pigs being experimented on and fodder for the pharmaceutical giants.
Why all the clamour to get everyone vaccinated when it doesn't prevent it or stop the spread?
I remember Thalidomide another drug the experts swore by, and they say the MMR jab only causes severe effects in very small cases. Well my cousin's son became autistic after his.

It's a she and she is 71. I don't know what the consequences would be. Even her brother doesn't think the jab works even though they are both vaccinated.
It's down to a person's immune system, most people get a mild form but a tiny minority get a severe life threatening one. The older you are and if you have underlying illnesses the more dangerous it is, even a common cold is dangerous.
Of all the Covid deaths the majority are people over 60 with underlying health issues.
Even the doctors have said that they don't know if some would have died anyway if they hadn't contracted Covid.
I can't believe the panic the virus has caused even though it is only severe in 0.5% of cases.
We are all going to die of something and it probably won't be Covid.

Having the jab REDUCES transmission. It’s a fact. The jab isn't 100% protection and so the more it spreads, the more who can get seriously ill, vaccinated or not. People in hospitals are more likely to have complications if they caught covid and so there is a moral obligation to follow science and keep patients safe.

NHS staff have had mandatory vaccinations for years for the likes of MMR, TB, Hep B etc.. protecting patients through vaccination isn’t new to the NHS at all. Why is covid different?

The countries already bought the blooming vaccines so that decision has nowt to do with lacing the pockets of pharmaceutical companies. That’s just illogical.

Must say I agree with you Des and know also a child is autistic because of the MMR and the mum is campaigning. Mine never had the MMR!

How many under 20’s have died because of Covid FFS!! That’s the point!
