Where is all this going to end? I'm sure that everybody has made a statement in their past that they wished that they hadn't. I know that I certainly have. Young people make mistakes, it's a part of growing up. What offends that me is that it appears to be OK for Rafiq, as a 19 year old, to make an anti-Semitic comment but because he has apologised that's the end of it. Ollie Robinson does the same and is banned. Where's the fairness in that? Rafiq can pour out a tirade of abuse to a black South African coach because he was dropped for flouting curfew rules but that also appears to be fine as nothing has been mentioned about that. I don't know what he said but am assuming that it wasn't racist, therefore, that's again OK. Comments can be extremely hurtful even if they aren't racist in context.

As I've said many times, I do believe that there are elements of Yorkshire CCC who are definitely racist and need to be brought to task. However, let's not trawl through what people are accused of saying years ago and also to be even handed and not hypocritical. If somebody is accused of being racist, both parties must be listened to and not to instantly believe the accuser. I'm sorry to say that this now appears to be the case.

Finally, I would like to add that I am not racist and am equally appalled as the next person, for example, as to the comments made about the black lads who missed those penalties. Yes, they were poor penalties but not because of their colour.
