Debate in our Parliament today on the new Law they want to permit the 2G strategy. One of the coalition parties wants to go 1G (Getest) and have everybody have to have a recent test to enter bars, restaurants etc and thereby avoiding a 2 tier society of vaxed and unvaxed. Provided those tests remain free, I wouldn't be against it.

is that a formal PCR test (I can see the sense) ora self administered lateral flow (free for all/waste of time IM0)?

PSR tests dont have the turnaround time for checking admission status into bars though - unless there was a lab at the front door of every nightclub, bar etc. Lateral flow takes what, so minutes to develop an answer so may give some assurance in a useable time frame

Munich Christmas markets cancelled due to rampant numbers of COVID cases. Presume rest of Germany will follow suit shortly.

Sad because these places are usually vibrant and fun. Still at least its not Boris having to close Walthamstow market due to his government's incompetence (yet) but the wonderfully effective Angela. ironic, eh

Tragic that. The Germans certainly know how the celebrate a traditional Christian Christmas and the markets are a delight.
I would have missed my usual jaunt to Nurnberg this year anyway.
But they give a delight to many.

I guess you cannot buy gingerbread, lebkucken and gluhwein in the Thai Christmas markets Tricky?

What will your Thai Santa leave in a stocking at the end of your bed this year? Mango coconut sticky rice balls?

    I'll manage don't worry.

My Xmas tree will involve a palm tree/ crystal waters/ a mango mocktail and a tiny little fairy who loves sweet candy canes.
Will miss the Ushanka and gloves, but factor 50 will have to do.

Main news story on BBC Breakfast this morning which was the Covid riot in Rotterdam yesterday. Lots injured including 2 rioters shot by police. This is merely a taste of what the NL government can expect if the whole Covid thing turns out to be a) the scam some believe it is or b) part of some master plan to kill off millions through the vaccine or c) part of some master plan aka the Great Reset referred to in Schwab's book to have the IMF/World Bank/etc eradicate all national debts in return for ownership of everything (cars, houses, land, shops, factories... everything) and there will be no more private ownership except for the privileged few behind it all or d) 2 or even all 3 of the above.

If any of it happens I fully expect that millions will descend on the Hague and the PM and cabinet will suffer greatly at the hands of the mob. It is that reason that makes me believe that it isn't all a scam or some master takeover plan as Mark Rutte et al are not that stupid they would sign their own death warrant.

On another slant, there are still many who believe Covid doesn't exist and it's all a scam. Tell that to the >6000 UK residents admitted to hospital yesterday with a virus/disease that "doesn't exist".

MA any sane person would know that Covid isn't a scam, has it been handled well by most governments? I would say not.

I'm surprised you even mentioned the conspiracy theories tbh, whilst undoubtedly Covid has and will be used for political ends, as per usual the conspiracy theories are just utter *******s.
