This morning I was at my local GP surgery getting my flu jag. I had a discussion with the nurse giving me my flu jag about the merits of the Covid-19 vaccinations and she told me that several of the pupils at Port Charlotte PS have contracted the Covid-19 virus.
This time last year there were no cases of the Covid-19 virus on Islay and now despite most people having had both their Covid-19 vaccinations with a number of local residents having had their booster vaccinations the Covid-19 virus is running rife throughout the island.
Worryingly the pupils at Port Charlotte PS are too young to receive a single Covid-19 vaccination.
Surely the idea of living with the virus being present in our population is now a fact of life. You were able to avoid the virus initially but surely you would not want to live in a closed community?

Once you've looked at the figures properly and not in skewed manner that governments do, tell me if this is a serious, globally life threatening situation or just another flu bug that's a bit more contagious than normal.
Don't think this comment should be directed exclusively at Islay. I think MSM should be asking for these bits of information.

The amount of times I've heard "Yes but it dosent really effect me"......people have embraced this and most I'd think would feel a bit foolish to change their tune now......women seem particularly complient, youngsters em astonished at how complient they are and the elderly have just been petrified.

    It's incredibly sad.
Like you I am astonished that people throughout the U.K. accept what politicians and so called ‘health experts’ say as gospel.
When I tell people that the ‘one size fits all’ masks are not stopping the spread of the Covid-19 virus they look astounded.
I then show them the space at either side of their mask which lets the virus escape.
Meanwhile our surgery still insists that a patient collecting their repeat prescription wears one of the ‘one size fits all’ single use face mask which you have to take out of a dispenser in the entrance hall of the surgery.
    Another pointless exercise.
40,004 new positive Covid-19 cases yesterday, over 287,000 new positive Covid-19 cases and over 1,000 deaths in last seven days throughout the U.K. proves that the Covid-19 vaccines are in my opinion no use in stopping the spread of the Indian variant of the Covid-19 virus.
It is time for the scientists, health experts and politicians to admit that the current Covid-19 vaccinations are no use dealing with the Indian variant of the Covid-19 virus and that vaccinations will immediately stop until a new vaccine can be produced to deal with the current Indian strain of the Covid-19 virus.
However that will never happen. Instead we will keep getting Covid-19 booster vaccinations pumped into our arm until eventually the Covid-19 virus fades away to be replaced by something else such as new highly contagious strain of the flu virus.

All it needs is a it of investment in GP surgeries so that there is a team available to carry out the programme. Not sure how many patients are linked to a general practice but they have been doing flu vaccines for years, possibly decades so it should be quite straight forward.

Would like to see some detailed analysis of the deaths by age, by underlying health issues and by vaccine history.
Your suggestion for a booster shot in a GP surgery is an ideal solution.
However there is a major problem.
The GP surgeries have never been involved with the rollout and administering of the Covid-19 vaccinations as this has been organised by NHS Scotland.
You cannot even get a copy of your Covid-19 passport in paper form from your local GP surgery. Instead you have to download your Covid-19 passport from the NHS Scotland website.

Sorry, Islay, but both my wife and I had our first two vaccinations delivered through our GP surgery. Arrived on time, seen on time and out all under 15 minutes.
Retired doctor drafted in to do the jabs along with others.

My sister in law is a dentist and was doing the vaccines.

People would faint if they found out how much dentists were being paid per day to give out the vaccines.

I can easily live with the Covid-19 virus being present in our population the same way as the flu virus is also present in our population is now a fact of life.
Meanwhile will someone please tell John “Spinney’ Swinney that his precious Covid passport scheme is not making a jot difference stopping the spread of the Covid-19 virus throughout Scotland.
    On a slightly different note.
John Swinney was a guest of Dundee Football Club at the Dundee v St Johnstone game on Saturday 10th March 2018 where he was to use his powers at Holyrood to get the access issues to and from the new stadium development at the former NCR Camperdown grounds onto the A90 Kingsway resolved.
What has John Swinney done to resolve this problem.
If he runs true to form. Nothing!

I remember reading in the Sunday Times newspaper how much dentists and other health professionals including retired GPs were being paid daily to administer the Covid-19 vaccinations. From memory I think that it was over £600 per day.
Last March my wife received her first Covid-19 vaccination at Islay Hospital.
I said to the retired GP who was administering the Covid-19 vaccinations that the Covid-19 vaccinations were not working.
The retired GP replied “We know that, but until we are told to stop administering the vaccinations we will continue to do so”.

    It's reality not pessimism.

Vaccine passport or be excluded.....that's the reality
