I completely agree that we need to be concerned about all those things, gm. I've never bought into the notion of zero covid - it's here and it isn't going away. It's about balancing risk, which is why I fail to understand why people rail against the notion that they should live with the very minor inconvenience involved in wearing a mask in higher risk situations.
Out of interest, how do you suppose we can address hospital waiting lists, cancer treatments backlogs, operations delayed when the NHS has had to manage 597 969 Covid related hospital admissions in 20 months and you are objecting to simple measures aimed at reducing future admissions?

Logic has been abandoned.
The biggest difference between a pub and public transport is that customers have a choice on whether they go into a pub.
Many people will not have a realistic choice as to whether they should use public transport or not.
Therefore it is right that any mitigation measures are introduced in an area where the risks are unavoidable for some
The magic answer is already there if you look for it... its multifactoral. That is, there are many factors at play.
Your logic is flawed because you're implying that you can't comprehend that if covid cases go up where mask wearing is taking place, it means masks dont work. The thing is we have evidence masks do work, but there are many other factors, so clearly it is the other factors that are causing the rise.
It's like if you were getting ill and then you took some paracetamol and you continued to feel even worse - by your "logic" you'd be saying paracetamol doesn't work and is pointless or even harmful, when we know for a fact it does work.
You don't need to be around at the time of something to be able to prove its total nonsense.
Only the most gullible of children would believe that an ark that the bible claimed was about 140m long could hold over 4 million animals, let alone feed, water and handle the waste product of them with a handful of staff.
Still, some brainwashed adults inexplicably beleive this fairytale.
On that note, I have some magical beans that will grow into a giant beanstalk into the clouds at a very reasonable price if you're interested?
Gms are a breeding ground for all sorts of nonsense.
King of the straw man argument GM.
You keep claiming I've said things that I've never once posted.
Let's have a wager, if you can find any reference to me claiming it doesn't have to be ingested or that handwashing isn't important too, I'll donate £100 to Rotherham Hospice.
If you can't, you donate £100...
dare you take it?
If you daren't, at least be brave enough to admit you made a nonsensical straw man arguement that was a pointless and didn't further the discussion at all as you do from time to time.
There's also a big assumption that face masks were actually worn in Scotland.
Checks might have been made at ticket barriers but once on a train some or most of the passengers could have taken them off.
Masks have been mandatory on London public transport for a long time but having visited their once for the original Charlton date and again for the rescheduled fixture I would estimate that compliance was about 10-20%
