Still optimistic that commonsense will prevail. I think I speak to more people who want the vaccine programme ramped up. Don't think anyone is in favour of lockdown. Politicians and SAGE are back to flattening the curve of a new mutation of covid to give the NHS time to get everyone triple vaccinated. No lockdown this time because we are not going to use furlough to ease the financial pain. My opinion only, no facts to back it up!

Good post BCram. As you say i am not sure anyone is in favour of going down the lockdown route again.

But as ever we will just have to wait and see.

if there isn't a lockdown with furlough this winter I think that will show that Boris was right and lessons will have been learned. Everyone expected more covid cases this winter. If they hadn't found this omicron variant there would difnitely have been another one. Don't wear a mask if you don't want to, don't get vaccinated if you don't want to but don't expect to be able to do exactly what you want and have the same access to venues. I really don't hear any medical opinion saying anything other than wear a mask, get vaccinated and if you have symptoms get tested.

I have previously posted on here that prior to my wife receiving her first Covid vaccination I said to the retired GP administering her vaccination that the Covid vaccinations were not stopping the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
The retired GP “We know that but until the Government tells up to stop giving people their Covid vaccination we will continue to do so”.
People working for the NHS are not allowed to speak out and tell the truth for fear of losing their job while retired medical professionals can tell the truth without the fear of losing their job.

What do you think would have happened if the advice had been, the vaccines will not stop the spread of the virus without any additional explanation? It is undoubtedly a fact but maybe there are other facts that you could choose to illustrate that getting vaccinated is a good idea? Just for once, how about saying something positive about the void vaccine programme.

It would have saved the U.K. government a fortune and forced the companies producing the Covid vaccine to produce a vaccine that was fit for purpose.
It has just been announced that the number of daily cases is higher than last January when a small percentage of the U.K. population had received their first Covid vaccination.
It has also just been announced that despite having had two Covid vaccinations it will not stop people contracting the Omnicron variant of Covid.
I would not be surprised to see another announcement in a couple of months time advising that the booster Covid vaccination will not stop people throughout the U.K. contracting the Omnicron variant of the Covid virus.
It will be interesting to know how many people in the U.K. the so called health ‘experts’ expecting to die as a result of contracting the Omnicron variant of the Covid virus despite people having received both their Covid vaccinations.
