One things for sure, with all the uncertainty and if it continues into January then I think it will make everyone unsettled, and that’s without the Rodrigues situation too.
Agree he’s definitely going and I believe Notts just need to tell him it’s in the summer and just lose out on any fee we got in Jan. I’d do the exact same with Ruben and at least they could get a decent fee for him. Absolutely no club is going to sell us a ready made replacement in Jan for either of them.

In both cases I think it boils down to how much money we could get by selling them in January. The business model for the club is to buy promising talent, develop it and then sell it on at a sufficient profit to reinvest in the next promising talent. In the case of Cal Roberts we extended his contract early so we could demand a significant fee if someone comes in, but I can't see the potential suitors for Wootton and Rodrigues shelling out a large amount in January for players they could nab for free when their contracts expire only a few months later.

Apologies I thought his contract was up this summer too, but I'm pleased it isn't!

In that case, the bid for Ruben would have to be well into six figures to justify selling him at this stage.
