So Raab is on TV and gives two different numbers 250 and 9 for people in hospital and Omicron so clearly its not just black women MP's who have trouble with numbers yet there is no pile as there was with Diane Abbott?

    Lol...good point, well made.
As Justice Secretary he also seemed to struggle with how long the police can go back to investigate illegal activities.

And to think he stood as a potential leader. Would have been awful if he’d won and we’d ended up with with an untrustworthy incompetent as PM.

Funny as **** though, total clown.

Maybe it's a sign of how poor they all are.
Corbyn couldn't count at his Xmas dinner party either.

Trying to be serious instead of point scoring, the standard of numeracy on TV and Radio news is appalling, especially in the areas of extrapolation and provenance. I was at my desk on Monday and paid attention to this, and coincidentally one expert refused to answer a numbers based question as he knew there was no basis in fact for the number in question

Fair enough...there is an element of ‘point scoring’ but there was a serious point to be made too.
Diane Abbott has been the butt of many on the Right’s ‘humour’ for years...because she got her figures wrong.
Whether that was because she’s black, black and left wing, a black, left wing woman or just an opinionated woman is debatable, but it seems only fair to question why Dominic Raab, when he follows up one ridiculous statement about the police with another innumerate one, hasn’t been subjected to the same level of ridicule.
Mind you, we have a Prime Minister who appears unable to count the number of illegal parties held by in his home/office or by his Party last year...and possibly how many children he’s ‘fathered’...so maybe we shouldn’t be too surprised.

Personally I ridicule Abbot not because of her skin tone, gender or political alignment, but rather because she is innumerate. I would equally ridicule any public figure due to innumeracy, illiteracy or just sheer stupidity. That quite possibly leaves no politician free from ridicule, which says much about the connectivity (or lack of it) between intelligence and political ambition

I don’t doubt what you say, GP...but it is interesting that a black Labour woman should be more ‘notorious’ for her error/s than a white Tory male.
Sadly your ‘connectivity’ comment is something that all too often (not always) I agree with.

The two answers I can offer on that are a) today he has, certainly on the social media feeds I troll, and b) in the long term he hasn’t because he has less ‘previous’ than she has both in terms of numerical incompetence and the ‘red rag to a bull’ topic, racist/racially slanted outbursts

No RA it isn't because she's black, or black left wing. The race card can be aimed as much at her, for causing the abuse she gets.

The fact she's as thick as a door step has more to do with it. This was a shadow home secretary, who couldn't put on a matching pair of shoes and seemed to think 10 000 police officers would cost 300K?
That is a monumental **** up of intelligence.

I’ve revisited this post rA to try to work out why your perspective is so different to other posters. Serious question, what sources have you been exposed to to lead you to conclude that one has been more ridiculed than the other. Repeat, Serious question
