So this is what I’ve learnt and been told by those who do know.
In Summary you don’t need to worry too much about the new Virus unless you have not been jabbed at all, never had any strain of Covid before of you are immunocompromised.

For those who have 1 to 2 jabs if you get it you only have a 30% or less chance you will NOT be symptomatic. In other words you have a 70% chance you will have symptoms and can pass the virus on to others. Most likely you will have mild to moderate symptoms yourself. BUT you should still have a very good T-Cell response from your immune system. T-Cells are like the cavalry of the immune system. Data still shows this to be the case and but means that a small percentage of these people will end up in hospital or worse.

For those with a third dose the picture is different. You then have a 90% chance your initial immune response will work and you will not be symptomatic. For most people you will none the wiser, maybe just a little tired but no symptoms. There will be 30% who will have symptoms and can infect others and again mild symptoms. Again the t-call response will kick in and deal with the virus. A small percentage of this group ( unknown at the moment) will have more severe symptoms and may need hospitalisation. Some data from SA is showing the virus is only as pathogenic as a common cold, that is not surprising as the Omicron has actually mutated with one of the 4 known sars/corona cold variants.

As its been stated, even a small percentage of a lot of people can still be a high number.

Tough call for the government as it’s a lose lose situation they face.
    It’s all about numbers really

Another lock down is plain stupidity as more companies will crash and the country will be in more debt. Surely we should face facts - almost everyone will get it and more people will die. If there's any doubts of nervousness then stay at home. What this virus is doing to our school children and the younger generation is absolutely tragic - getting on to the third lost year! Poor school kids and kids leaving school who can't go on gap years, travel the world etc etc.

I have done all this but feel for the young ones who can't and won't. It's one of life's experiences.
