In 1967 during Music class in school the teacher allowed us to bring in a record to listen to and then discuss. A lad bought in John Mayall's The Blues Alone. As soon as I heard it playing I knew I had to get it. I have many JM albums now and still listen to him. A wonderful ambassador for the Blues and an inspiration to many British artists back then.

I have two copies of the Beano album (mono and stereo). This was the music I was heavily into in my ****s. I was so shocked when Clapton left but then I discovered Hard Road and Peter Green. Saw the Bluesbreakers live at Brum town hall when Mick Taylor was with them. Happy days!

Saw them a few times, back in the day. Took my Pearl Jam/RHCP/Nirvana loving son to see them at the Civic Wolverhampton. Blew him away. So tight. He is a perfectionist

Loved the Beano album and also Gary Moore's much later Still got the blues album which has a very similar vibe. Another classic album from 1966 is the Paul Butterfield Blues album featuring Mike Bloomfield on lead guitar, Alvin
Bishop on rhythm and the drummer and bass player from Muddy Waters band . I believe they also supported Dylan at Newport on his first electric gigs along with Al Cooper on keys
