Have to confess to being a doubter about playing today especially when we could only field 4 subs. So wrong and so happy that we can take the moral higher ground for playing and all 3 points.

Saw this on BBC sports website "Wrexham were awarded a penalty early in the second half after Frank Vincent's high foot caught the heads of James Jones". i dont think its fair for teams to have a player with multiple heads.
What a game that was from start to finish, we had a bit of a rocky 10 mins in the second half but then kept our heads. Felt for Eli with that chance, tbf he did make a positive impact on the game.
That was a really good performance. Wrexham might have the big-name signings but we looked the better coached team. The players are now well drilled in Ian Burchnall's passing game and it's a far more positive one than we played under Neal Ardley.
Thinking back to some of our best days under Warnock and Allardyce, their teams knew the way they wanted to play and the personnel could be interchanged without too much consequence. There are echoes of that with this manager and squad, which is really promising. We were missing some important players today, but their replacements stepped up and did well. The system of play is consistent even when certain players are swapped in and out.
I thought that was Ed Francis' best game to date by some distance, and despite getting an early booking and missing a good chance I still thought Eli Sam showed some really nice touches and creativity in the second half. It was a real team performance.
And thank God we've got Anthony Patterson back. What an asset he is!
He should definitely have scored at least one, but apart from that he played brilliantly and proved to be a real handful. My criticism of him previously has been regards his attitude as his body language looks like he can't be bothered. Not today! He put a real shift in and ran his cojones off.
Agree, it was one of those games that had everything, even down to a spectacular rainbow that arched over the full length of the Sirrel stand just before half time. Nowhere else in the world would you get a crowd or an atmosphere to come close to today's for a Tier 5 game.
