Orlando News - Financials Reported Locally

Following the news as here in Orlando and they are gutted to see him go and say:

While financial terms weren't disclosed, a source with knowledge of the deal indicated that Orlando will receive $9.5m plus performance bonuses. The Lions will also receive 20 percent of any future sale. The Athletic was first report the initial transfer fee of $9.5m.

"I am extremely grateful to everyone at Orlando City for believing in me and for giving me the opportunity to play for this incredible club," Dike said. "This was a great place for me to start my career and I am thankful to the club for helping me toward this next step of my journey. I will always cherish my time here with my teammates, coaches, and staff, but I'll especially miss the fans and the incredible atmosphere they create for each home game."

If the figure is correct then this is an extremely low figure for a 21 year old with an albeit at MLS/ championship level record, fair play to the club if true.

They wanted £20m last season from what I recall if Barnsley had gone up.

In comparison to Hugill he’s worth 60 million Blood! Nobody wanted Johnstone pre-season so his value now must be on the floor!

Alright Al happy New year mate

A lot of pressure on Dike because our current shirkers, I mean strikers aren't fit for purpose.

I hope he is prolific, but he must have had seconds thoughts about agreeing to come on to the pitch at HT as some of "fans" demonstrated their unique support with boos.

If he doesn't start firing from the off, I can see him being booed and chants of what a waste of money.

Patience is in short supply in Sandwell of late.

Anyway I will let you get back to your "booze" on your well deserved holiday after your difficult year health wise.

Thanks Blood. Very well rated in Orlando and from what I have seen he will do well - he’s hungry which is the main ingredient! We di need another midfielder though and ideally Okay back and O’Shea will be like a new signing when back.

Weather bloody lovely here Blood and in the 80’s so won’t want to come back. Lovely break though!

Best wishes for 2022 to you mate

PS - the Californian red goes down well!

It's nice in Orlando we went there in 1999 and took in an Orlando Magic game.

Let's hope Dike is more magic rather than monkey mouse.

I was thinking about O'Shea coming back and wondering where he will play as the defence is doing OK. Maybe an option in mf.

Imo we need another striker and an amf.
