He weren't a great player but he weren't a bad un either .

I can still see that diving header all these years later in my minds eye that won us that cup tie .

Right in front of the Ponty End from a corner around 80 minutes .

These were massive games back then which is why I still remember them vividly 45 years on .

Good player for us Warnock , him and John Peachy always went int Mount after a midweek game at Oakwell , no edge to either of them , just enjoying a few pints with Fans/Locals ,

Just thinking what the likely team was back then Arby

    --------- Springett ------

    Murphy -- Saunders -- McCarthy -- Collins

    Warnock - Little ( legend ) - Pugh - Millar

    ------------------ Joicey ----- Peachey ----

    Sub

    Price

I bet I'm not a million miles away and I couldn't even put a team together from 10 years ago other than three or four .

Huddersfield fans are called "dog botherers" because of a rumoured incident when a Huddersfield fan from Dewsbury was caught shagging a dog.and this incident of bestiality was then attached to all Huddersfield fans.
I couldn't comment on the truth of it but the tale is still told in Happy Valley.

Bet that's not far off Animal. Maybe Chambers rather than Collins? Chambers was a right stalwart, played for us for years and I think he was still around at that time.
I'm the same, I can name teams from the early days, probably because we had much smaller squads and the teams therefore almost picked themselves.

I always thought that when Warnock put on his shirt he had a coat hanger underneath minds you I used to think the same with Glyn Riley

Funny, my sister used to say the same thing Shadrack. Glyn Riley was another that wasn't great but wasn't a bad player either. He always gave 100 percent, coat hanger or not.
