I agree. Not that great a striker we should spend any money at this time

Well can have him until end of season - with his heart not in it - fine by me

Get Shanks back is a better striker than Watt if he gets the service.

I would much rather have Shankland back on loan... 100k plus wages for Watt now or we can get Shankland in for wages only and save 100k to sign a winger...its a no brainer!

Well, not really. You're assuming Beerschot would let us just pay wages and even then that's got to be miles more than Watt would earn. Think what I'm saying is even if paying a fee for Watt (then you have a sellable asset) it would quite possibly cost less than having Shanks on loan for half a season.

they may want to boost his value, we may agree to reduce our %, all depends how much they want shot of him. Sounds like quite desperately. Then again if they harbour thoughts of staying in league they clearly want shot of him but would want to free up money to get better in i suppose. I think its a possibility thats all really due to circumstances.

The way I am seeing it is that because he can't play for another team other than us this year...or he stays and fights for his place. I can't see any team opting to buy a player and pay his wages just for him to sit in the stands. I think we are in a good position but ultimately...the decision will be down to Shanks! I think the opportunity to put himself in the shop window for 6 months would be a tempting offer. If the club wants to free up some wages or to try and make some money..then they have to loan him out.
But for me...we can't afford to take our eyes of our need to get some supply to the strikers that we have...that is our priority this window!

Bad news I’m afraid - looks like we’ve missed out as the contract extension is signed. If we’d only known that all it needed was a couple of cases of Guinness to get it over the line as well…………………….

No matter what way you look at it you'd have to say that Lawrence has been, well, a bit of a flop with his Belgian club.
Who would have thought that after 5 months, 14 games and 2 goals he'd be getting moved on?
With his club marooned at the foot of the league.
Hard to get your head round it.
    Niggling injury, sleepless nights?
    Or just lost his touch?
