They’re investing in the new stadium but I’ve just looked at it and it will have a capacity of 52,888. Surely any new stadium needs to be at least 60,000 at the top end of the EPL level - Arsenal (60,250), Spurs (62,303) of the new build specific to football; then West Ham (66,500), Man City (55,017) (can be expanded to 61,000) of the converted athletic stadiums.

The older stadiums - Liverpool (54,074) (7,000 expansion on site), Man Utd (74,869) (potential to nearly 90,000), we can go up from 54,205 to around 60,000 if the Gallowgate extension ever happened and even Sunderland future-proofed to around 64,000 when they built the Stadium of Light.

Anyway a bit of a tangent there and I clearly have too much time on my hands on a Sunday morning but the conclusion of this post is that, as an Everton fan I would be feeling a bit underwhelmed at the new stadium proposals compared with what other clubs have done.
