When you have a tight knit group - bringing in outsiders can cause resentment, I believe you should only get loanees in if they are needed to replace injured key players.

With the benefit of a bit of hindsight, that does seem like a strange decision. Vincent was the man who transformed us from a good footballing if a bit plodding side into something much better.

By all accounts he had a poor first half at Wealdstone but others can have multiple poor games (Wootton, Rodrigues) and keep their places

If this is correct, it's on the owners, not Burch, he's only playing the style they want and with the players they are giving him.

It’s clearly the application rather than the talent for me.

The fact we are the lowest scorers in the first 30 minutes of a game has nothing to do with team selection nor with picking loanees.

We simply don’t want it enough. And it shows.

Extremely disappointed, we should be out of site by half-time. Cal misses 1 on 1, Ruben misses a header.
We've got to play in their half, we have to get out of their press and play beyond them, which is why we switched to 4-3-3, they went man for man and we struggled with that.
Don't know what the ref saw for the penalty, gave them a bit of momentum and broke ours.
Can't see a foul for their free-kick that led to their goal.
We've had a bad week, now we have to respond like we did earlier in the season (after bad run of three games).
Lot of games in quick succession, need to get into a rhythm. Need to improve performance level, we are chasing a bit now.

Unbelievably poor performance by so many players. Is the new keeper an upgrade on Slocombe? Back 3 were largely the better players in the side for me. Both wing backs were poor, particularly Taylor (after the opening 20 minutes or so). Midfield out fought and played us in to trouble, I said to a lad I was sat with that the only way Grimsby score is from our mistakes. Cal provides moments of class. The only player to do so. Wootton was dreadful, with Sam doing more for the side in his cameo.
In summary the best team on the day won.
