A collection would be a reasonable idea to help the club out financially although it wouldn't be anywhere near what will be required.

All the cash we've won in the Cup competitions ? Well some of it may be about to be used to pay a fine from the FA.

EDIT : A collection would be good PR stunt and show we do have some decent law abiding supporters.
Your last paragraph brings back memories of a night match at Tranmere many years ago. A charity collection box went missing from the bar. No evidence that it was nicked by Rotherham fans but that was where the accusatory finger was likely to be pointed as the pub was heaving with Millers fans. One of ours asked for a bucket and went round the pub collecting. The amount collected would have filled the collection box many times. Felt good to be a Miller that night and iirc Crawford scored the only goal that night. "karma" IBS? Obviously not because that's superstitious nonsense.

Nice gesture from the memory banks wrinkly.
    Collective responsibility ?
I only give to Rotherham Hospice and Bluebellwood.

Used to love visiting Prenton Park.

Could any fine the club receives be passed on to the Contractor in charge of stewarding the games?

If it’s not in the contract it should be in the new one. Maybe then the Contractor will train its staff to watch the crowd rather than the match!!

Brin, I asked you what you thought the word vitriolic meant not to embarrass you, but just to genuinely try and understand how you were interpreting roly's posts and see if I was missing something.

Despite that, I think it's a bit troubling that rather than respond by acknowledging your mistake, you instead deleted my post and changed yours. This sets a dangerous precedent for moderators to be allowed to abuse their power.

I don't think in this instance you were particularly saving yourself from embarrassment, but if someone like gm posts something that backfires and humiliates them they're stuck with it, and that should be true of the mods too.

I hope you get my point.

John, you have and often in the past tried to disrespect me, fact so, I felt your question was uncalled for but, out of courtesy I replied to you. Furthermore, I am not abusing my power as a Mod so stop using those kind of accusations they are uncalled for.

I realised in the light of the day that what I had put last night towards Roly's post, was uncalled for. Now normally I would have approached a Mod to have my post removed such is my prerogative to do so.

I now have the access to do such things so removed my comment and mentioned in my post why I had amended it. I will also let you know personally, as it seems only you have something to say about my actions, I have had a very lengthy phone call with Roly today as I know him personally. He in no way took what I said in my post personally and actually laughed at what I had said and put and why I removed my comments.

I trust by my explanation what I did, was for the good of keeping the board respectable. For the record, I also removed Howdy's post as it also contained my original wording to Roly, funnily, I do not see him asking for an explanation why I deleted his post.

    Have a good evening.

Brin, I'm willing to challenge any post on here I disagree with, I apologise if you've ever taken it disrespectfully, but that's never my intention.

In almost 18 years posting on MillersMad it has never once occurred to me to ask a mod to change one of my old posts when the time for me to do so runs out. I feel like we all have the same access to editing, but maybe you have more regret after things you post.

My issue here isn't really with your changing your own post, which I acknowledge your prerogative to do. It's that YOU DELETED MINE, without any explanation.

And then when I asked if you had deleted it you ignored me. That left me confused as to where my post had gone because I'm not psychic. As moderator you should be more transparent.

It's bizarre you're getting on your high horse here - it's you who deleted my post.

I didn't think your post was at all offensive, just bizarre, no wonder Roly laughed. That's why I think it's odd the approach you took to censor every mention of it. Brin jong-il. If that's the bar for keeping the board respectable we'd barely have any posts left.

Again, this all happened without any explanation - hence my questions and bemusement. I hope you get what I'm trying to say a bit better now.

Why does the forum stop people editing past posts I guess is a pertinent question. It creates an imbalance if some people don't worry about what they post because they're matey with the mods and know they can change the historical record at any time. Others don't operate like that so you effectively create a two tier board.

I think its an important question - because it means how can we know if things haven't been changed over time when it's embarrassing to someone who is matey with a mod? I'm questioning whether it goes on a lot more than I realise and whether it's affected any discussions I've been involved in. Do you see my concern?

The restrictions have been introduced for a reason. There needs to at least be guarantees of transparency.
