I said this to the Ipswich Town fans a few years ago who were banging on about Mick McCarthy and I will say it to yourselves- Be careful what you wish for! You've had a manager who had the audacity to want to manage and ensure players conformed. A manager who didn't pander to the modern day professional footballers' ego. Get him back to Oakwell!!
Be careful what you wish for! You had a manager who didn’t pander to egos. At £20-40000 grand a week you shouldn’t need an arm around the shoulder and your ego massaged.

    Couldn't agree more renno .

Albion were fifth when they sacked Val and the play off chance all four clubs get .

    Now !!!!!

Expect to be in the championship for the foreseeable Baggies .

You can see it a mile away .

Oh come on, we're in this position because of a half a season of Ismael not an away game that we lost with ten men last night!

    To the Barnsley Lads
I was there last night and can honestly say it’s been the first time in months that we have tried to play football on the ground and actually passing it. Had that w anker Livermore not been sent off again we would most likely have got something.

Tells you something when the players and Bruce were applauded off at the end.

For me the football under Val in the last 3 months was worse than Pulis! At least Pulis was in the premier and not the weakest championship for years!

Good riddance to Val! Don’t mind losing like last night if we try and play football!

let me tell you i enjoyed last season far more than this one and we're trying to play football this season, yet the disillusionment at Oakwell is the worst I've known it in over 30 years. Ask any Barnsley fan what they'd rather watch

If you dont win in the next 5-10 games trying to play football I will guarantee some sections will want Bruce sacking. In general football fans have no patience at all. Your clubs problems are deeper within me thinks and the manager is just the tip of the iceberg.

As for the weakest championship, I'd disagree. The bottom section (us included) is weaker , the top end? It's getting more and more stacked up with ex PL clubs, as is L1. I hate to say it but its that level of delusion that leads you to want managers sacking so quickly. We are what we are - a low end championship and decent L1 club if we're brutally honest. From the outside looking in, WBA are a low end PL side at best and competitive championship team. Many a team in recent years have fallen through the Championship trap door or flirted with relegation - you could well be the next ones because you have players who's attitude's seemingly stink to high heaven.

You've fallen into the trap like West Ham have/did - this 'West Ham' way mindset. As though the club should always be playing silky football when unfortunately the game has moved on and you (As we are even more so) are decades behind sides that we were once in front of. This means you have to adapt. To sack a manager when in 5th is ludicrous. As I said a while back, many sides have dropped or struggled straight after going down and you could have easily done this as you'd lost nearly 60% of your games last season. This year youd lost around 27%. You only won 13% last season, this year you'd won 43% and had 1 bad run.

I will repeat it again..Be careful what you wish for!

I get your point but disagree! I do agree though we are not good enough for promotion but any team should play decent football. QPR, Blackburn, Coventry or even Luton are playing decent football but their quality of squads is not better than ours! Why are they playing consistently decent football and the football under Val our football was hoof
    ball and dire!

Even last night ( I was there ) the supporters applauded the players at the end as to be honest they tried to play football for the first time in months. Yes we wanted to get something from the game but it was more about player effort and it was there!

The players had stopped playing for Val. Whilst this is wrong you or me would work harder and differently for a manager who inspired you as opposed to a manager whose tactics you thought were wrong. Val never changed his tactics which were clearly not working and played individuals that should have been benched. Hugill was dire for us bit appears he's getting a new lease of life at Cardiff - maybe he's happier!

We were sold a project by Val but it got worse and worse and worse; we're now 9th and Val had led us to something like 3 wins in his last 13...so don't give me that 'you were 5th in the league' crap. The only thing Val was successful of is turning a promotion contender into a bottom half side.

He led us to not scoring in 8 out of 12 games, so don't make out he's some sort of victim of fans wanting Brazilian football. We want the bare minimum of what should be expected from a club our size.

To summarise why he was sacked....the football was sh*te, the results were sh*te, it was getting worse and he not only lost the dressing room...he couldn't bloody find it in the first place.

Very accurate summary Matt and couldn’t agree more. Bruce and the players were applauded off last night as despite 10 men - they tried to play football and gave 100%. Result was not as priority as trying to play again!
