What are your expectations though? This is my point. You want to play great football? Dont we all. Would you take great football but ending up in League 1, 2?
You're a competitive Championship team, if you played fast flowing football against the best , you would get absolutely caned every week-as you did last season

Are QPR, Blackburn, Forest and Luton playing Valball and boring their supporters? No and their squads are no better than ours! Answer the question? I am realistic and agree Fulham and Bournemouth have better squads but the others play with confidence for their managers!

Understanding our club is knowing that we haven't fallen below playoff places in the championship since 1999/2000 season. That's 22 years of expecting to be better than the rest in the championship. That's our expectation.

We have parachute payments that give us a huge advantage, so it's not unreasonable to want a decent brand to go with it.

Val may have been a good fit for you, but for us we were falling well below our standard and not scoring any goals. The side isn't the best we've had in this league, but it isn't a mid table side at all. They're capable of better than what Val was dishing up and if he had some flexibility he would have seen that.

Weren’t you in the playoffs though when he was sacked ? Not the best side you’ve had in this league - by your own admission, yet you were in your ‘expectation’ level of the playoffs , so in theory was over performing with what he had? yet he was wanted out?

So it comes back to it wasn’t the ‘West Brom way’.

You can't look at us as 'in the playoffs' when he was sacked as we were a loss away from 9th and losing game after game. We had just lost 2-0 to both Preston and Millwall in our last two games...note the fact that we couldn't score against either side which was a Val special.

I don't really get why you're fighting for the honour of a bloke who left your lot at the drop of a hat. He showed you as little faith as our club showed him.
