One of my ambitions was to fly on that magnificent machine once I could afford it.
Should never have been finished, very sad that nobody had the wherewithal to carry it on with a new model Boingy.

Enjoyed that...thanks boingy....
I did fly Concorde once - London to New York outward leg. One of those occasions 25 odd years ago when I had to be in two places at the same time for business. A memorable trip but not for reasons I imagined. The first thing you notice is that the seating was not particularly spacious - think economy or at best premium economy seating. Hard grey leather seats etc. There was no video entertainment at all - the main focus was a large analog dial at the front which showed you the speed you were flying at. It was quite a smooth flight - little turbulence throughout .... although quite noisy. Seeing America come into view after about two hours flying was quite spectacular. And they gave you lots of Concorde goodies like stationery, pens etc which were unique.
But have to say for the price - think twice the cost of First Class (and no I wasn’t paying myself) - was it worth it .... not really ...
I'd have loved to have flown on it just once, I worked with someone who had sone and said it was a great experience including seeing the curvature of the earth. Had the project carried on I'm sure the in flight entertainment, seating space and comfort levels would have been second to none, including the price!
I think our generation is hugely privileged to have had relatively cheap air travel and known the world before the internet.
I struggle a bit to comprehend how cheap flying is these days. I spent some time working for a company that made equipment used in the manufacture of aircraft. Huge amounts were spent(millions) on stuff that made just a tiny fraction of a parts that the aircraft rely on.- and that is just the civil aircraft f. Cost of military stuff was astanomical.
Going back to Concorde, I understand that certain bits of control equipment were deliberately destroyed when the aircrftwas taken out of use - so they could never be flown again. (Still don't know if this is true )
