4-5-1 …….. means only one recognised striker

Formation lately switching from a 4-5-1 to a 4-3-3 during the match.
Completely different to the regular 3-4-3 that was regularly played last season.

Since the vertical football tactics have been ditched - I think Asbaghi has finally found a formation in 4-5-1 that actually works.
We have midfielders that can zip the ball about at speed.
Some of the midfield football in recent games has been a real pleasure to watch.
We are having periods during games where we are dominating teams - and this is through our dominance of midfield.

Although in saying that - they are midfielders - they arn’t used to scoring - and this is clearly evident.
But when we have brought another striker on in the last couple of games the formation drops to a 4-4-2 - and the level of performance drops with it.

Personally I think we should stick to the 4-5-1 formation.
As Morris is head and shoulders above any other striker at the club - so where does this leave Woodrow ?
Because IMO Woodrow comes behind Cole and Leya in the pecking order.

Well - I’d rather see 3 big centre backs stood on the half way line and 2 big target strikers up top.
But those tactics have been kicked over the stand.
So as we have an abundance of light weight quick midfielders then we may as well use them.

BTW - what do you mean - real job?

If thats the best and maybe most effective formation we can play, then it puts all the pressure on Morris up front.
And as he can be injury prone, thats a problem.
I would put Woodrow ahead of Iseka though in the pecking order.

As oppose to walking in to English football , using other peoples money to own a football club and then trying to proclaim you know best .

The people who know this game aren't the people you read about too often .

People like Mick Harford at Luton who know what they are doing and know what they are looking for with the budget they have .

Real people who have real jobs .

Do you know who is massively responsible for the resurrection of Crystal Palace today ?

From minutes away from folding ten years ago , from having to gain a point on the last day of the championship season and not drop in to league one playing in a stadium they didn't own .

Well it ain't who you think it is , it ain't Roy Hodgson , it ain't Steve Parrish , it ain't Fat Sam either .

It's probably someone you've hardly heard of .

    I'll let that hang .

Speaking of C.Palace Animal, Im sure we won't forget the day when we stayed up and they helped send Peterbrough down.
And Ian Holloway took them up as well that season, but unbelievably they sacked him in their first season back in the Prem.
But what do chairmen/owners know ehh!!.

It wasn't even Ian Holloway either who is responsible for where Crystal Palace sit today acido .

Absolutely none of the names we know associated with that club .

The man in question worked 24/7 for the club , drove for hours on motorways looking at players who he thought to could improve the club .

When Steve Parrish became owner he set a sustainable budget which wasn't a right lot but he inherited some good people around the club who knew what they were doing .

Bit by bit things got better , they recruited to what they needed and on the pitch was all that mattered .

That's all they were interested in , put the best team out every week that gives us the biggest chance of winning .

Player trading didn't come in to it to further profit from .

What I'm saying is it can be done on a modest budget if everyone signs up to the same mindset and looks at football on the field first and foremost and not another way entirely .

Where Eagles Dare is as good a football documentary I've seen in recent times and you can view it on Amazon Prime .

    Proper club Palace .
