    Red Squirrels...

I can hear Griffs sigh from here..

Nevertheless,I want to see a red squirrel,I want to see one for more than the millisecond that I saw one scurrying up a tree a couple of years back on the IOW,so here's where you come in,if I was to spend a couple of days in Cumbria where is the best time and place spot to see one? I'm determined to succed this year, probably May(ish) will be a good time for me and after that I'm going looking for puffins when they've got their coloured beaks on

I’ve seen then at the osprey viewing point (usually April onwards) by Dodd Wood on the side of Bassenthwaite which is the only lake up here. Also up from the Aira Force car park at Ullswater. NO NEED TO THANK ME.

I've done some searching around and Dodds Wood sounds fantastic,if I could spot an Osprey as well as a red squirrel I would be absolutely made up

FactsPriest, Whinlatter Forrest I might give a miss due to the amount of segways and bikes doing the rounds but thanks anyway

I took a screenshot of the photo for my profile picture which enabled me to zoom in on it and it really is a superb picture, the hair on the ears and tail you can see in fine detail and the colour is beautiful...
