We are almost entirely reliant on our defence to beat either of these two, because our attack just doesn't carry enough threat/goals, we could easy have turned a couple of these draws and defeats against the ugly sisters into wins this season, most have been in the balance the last 15-20 mins, if we carried a threat in the final third.

Corners should carry a huge threat for us with Graham, Edwards, Butcher, Mulgrew in the team, we have definitely not capitalised on this over the season.

But even if we do play with the same tenacity we need to be better in possession when we win the ball back. The Nowegian team that beat them in Glasgow won the ball off them in their own defensive third and managed to play through their midfield. We need to find a way to do that because heroic defence isn't going to get you a draw every time.

But as I said earlier in the thread it's doable. So let's do it.
The most frustrating thing about the home game v Celtic is in the few times we did get the ball into their penalty area they panicked like phuck even if none of our players were anywhere near them. The Funsters(BOTTOM) scored twice at Parkhead yesterday not because they are brilliant going forward it was down to Celtic's shocking defending but unfortunately we(DUFC) lack self belief v Celtic regardless of how shyte their defence is.

Its debatable but i think its probably harder to score v The Rangers than Celtic but we seem to just have more belief or determination v the former than we do v the latter.

Actually i feel when we play Celtic at home we are beaten before a ball is kicked on most occasion's,if we had The Rangers in the 1/4 finals at Tannadice its 50/50 but v Celtic its probably 10/90.Many will disagree with my assessment but i'm sure the stats will back me up.

I see what you're getting at there and we need to shift that mindset.
From what I've seen the Celtic CB's are maybe more vulnerable than the Sevco ones but only if you get at them. Vickers is good but Starfelt is nothing great and I'd back Niskanen to skin him one on one. It's getting him one on one that's the hard bit.

We should be looking to get Watt and Niskanen down the flanks into the corners and trying to nick the ball off them for corners. Get some high balls flighted in, we might not score like Graham did but there's always the chance of the second ball. Celtic is set up 100% for attack, eg Abada Ralston Taylor all decent going forward but not as good defensively.

Take the boys for walk Ivan Courts 😎

That Norwegian team took their defence to the cleaners mate and the Dees scored twice, both games at fortress Parkhead,i know they are brilliant going forward we all know that BUT they are still bang average at the back.

The problem for us is we just do not get near enough that dodgy defence to silence their support who turn Tannadice into a home venue for them.If we were to score first its a different kettle O fish altogether. The Dees never scored twice yesterday because of the new manager bounce they managed it because Celtic have a piss poor defence,FACT.

No, you are right. I'm fact I'm not sure our chances are as good as 10%

10/90 translates into bookies' odds 1/10. I imagine we'll be about 1/8 on the day so not far off.
