First period of first half was pretty good. Commitment, attitude etc all good, but why oh why does McN get a game, why replace a forward player with a much more defensive Clark. McDonald not yet up to speed but the defense played pretty well provided the cover comes frist from midfield.

However midfield really does very little going forward, the game and any flow just stalls. Watt gets forward but theres no support or options for him meaning the defense can easily put 3 players on him....

I still cannot understand the love in for McN and Clark.

I've not seen any evidence of a love in for either tbh. Hate this love in expression anyway, some people prefer to get behind a player rather than constantly deriding him. It's their choice and their prerogative.

Today the conditions were horrendous, especially second half, the wind was wild and was against us, was a poor showing but for obvious reasons

A good point on the road, disappointing to lose the og when well in top, fans excellent

However a positive few weeks, 9 games, 4 wins 4 draws and 1 defeat (Celtic away last min), 9 goals for and just 5 against

If we can maintain this for the last ten games we will do fine, we aren't easy to beat just now, a very good trait and like Japan said well take these away pts and being hard to beat any day over expansive and losing regular, let's worry about that in the long term in seasons to come off we can do both at some stage, then great
Not negativity creeping in. Facts. After about 10/15mins we where poor. We have to stop relying on our defence and keeper to bail us out. We will at some point get punished. Nothing in middle, nothing going forward. Can’t blame conditions both teams were playing on it and the sheep looked more threatening.

On a side note. If we are going to play 5 at back using wing backs I wld prefer to play Freeman. I think he offers more going forward.

Aberdeen if they take two clear chances win the game fortunately they missed them. Not great from us but a very important point none the less and an improvement on 01 08 2021.They were missing some of their bigger players due to ilness or something and only had 5 subs on the bench.

Do we have any other strikers than Clark or mcnulty? It was the whole attack yesterday, watt included, away from home when you have a bit more space it to punish teams, it really highlights the glaring pace deficiency in our team and up top. Not sure who we have left away from home, but best I can see is some draws and squeeze out a couple of home wins.

Agreed,it would be a very brave man who bet on a United away win on Wednesday night at Livi, made worse by the fact they are in Barca mode after a stroll around Dens yesterday.

I try to be positive and there are lots of positives around the club and around the team. Loads. Our keepers, our defenders, the ambitious signing of Watt, others, and young players developing, it's a long list. Including sitting fourth in the table, so there's plenty to be happy about.

But we have a problem and it's a problem we've had before Tam took over which is that there's a big disconnect between our defence and attack. The issue isn't the attackers themselves, Watt will score, McNulty can score and Clark can score, all 3 are capable of taking chances (only one is capable of making chances) but you have to create chances for these players.

If you look at any successful professional club they have a method of doing that. Using one method or another they play their way through the midfield to eventually create a scoring opportunity. Don't get me wrong because sometimes we do it and do it well but so often we're just not capable of it. Those methods might be getting the ball down the flanks to pacy wingers in space, cross balls for tall strikers, first ball second ball. Or, play counter attacks at speed playing directly through the opposing midfield. This needs players who are comfortable in possession, players who can see the right place to play the next pass and strikers who understand what's going to happen and know where to make runs.

We've come a long way but if we want to take the next step we need to solve this. We need to get players into our midfield that gel together, can link well, pull an opposition defence side to side until we can create the clear cut chances that our strikers need. We do it occasionally but good sides do it regularly.

The frustrating thing for me is that the Sheep were there for the taking yesterday but we didn't as has been the case in a few other games. As I say there's loads to be positive about but until we get the midfield issue solved we're not going to see regular good football.

The two goals scored v Motherwell,1 a strong run down the left flank by Niskanen who delivers a bullet ball across the goal and Watt scores,2 Watt goes on a run down the right crosses at pace and it indirectly leads to Levitt's wonder strike due to the panic in Well's defence.

We can do it but not nearly enough, another chance was the Harkes slide rule ball to McNulty where he hit the post again you very rarely see it happening.

    Specky's f*cking raging,
    Specky's f*cking raging,
    Nah-nah nah nah
    Nah-nah nah nah!

Absolutely the best bit about yesterday. 😂😂😂

A point away to Aberdeen is usually decent however they are sh!te atm and with any kind of decent front line, we could've easily taken three points yesterday. The fact is we don't. We were so poor from middle to front yesterday. So f*cking poor. At no point did I think we were going to get beat, but equally, at no point did I see us even scoring again, nevermind winning the game. The front line needs to be priority in the summer. That and how we get the ball to the front line. Watt is superb but he needs help.

Thought Harkes had a good game yesterday. Niskanen was excellent. He's so important to us right now, both in terms of defending and attacking. He's playing that wing back role perfectly. Graham again had another good game. Strangely Mulgrew went from having a decent game to having an absolute mare and was lucky not to cost us on a couple of occasions. Siegrist decent as always. The rest, pfft.

Up to fourth however. Hoping for a couple of OF wins today

Losing a poor goal changed the game, not the kind of goal we have been losing recently

There's is definitely a difference in home and away results over the season

    In all comps
Home - won 9 drew 1 lost 7... So it took 17 home games for a draw, was either win or lose until then

    Away - won 6 drew 8 lost 5

5 games left, tough week coming up away to livi and home to hearts, livi in good nick after the stroll in the park at dens and hearts stopping their recent winless run yesterday

Then after the cup game, away to St Mirren, Hibs and then the derby, all good games, nice games to go to for the away fans too, bring it on I say
