Keeps happening because we don't have the players to deal with it.

You're right, they are too 'nice'. In the last game I saw, against Eastleigh, a comfortable enough victory, one of Sirrel's teams would have run all over them I do believe.

No, unfortunately I don't personally. That's the whole reason I don't fancy them for promotion as that's what we're looking at.
Pretty much the same off all our successfull periods, from Warnock , alladyce, and munto , they were good players, but had a rough side to them
It was no co-incidence that earlier in the season after a poor run that culminated in letting 3 goals in against Halifax , caused anger and action from IB in argy bargy with their mamager , the message thus sent to the players, get competitie , get stuck in, do something, and we then went on quite a good run

Sadly after a while they become to complacent , and just want to play attractive tippy tappy football , without putting the hard yards in and controlling the ugly side of the game

This 'nice' football seems to work at home but we need a different approach in away games, especially when things are not going our way away from home like last night.

Maybe Roberts is on his way to Chesterfield judging by the conversations he was having at the end with the chessie players.
Burchnall is becoming telegraphic with his Subs, Its always the same two players in Vincent and Sam who come off. There were far worse players on the pitch other than those two who could and should have come off..

Well we can kiss goodbye to any hopes of finishing 1st, We will be lucky to get into the play offs ...

Well IB said that Sam was struggling due to so many games, having not played a lot over the past 12 months. Was his hammy not tight in the last game as well?

... as said earlier ... we go into every game with fingers crossed that our centre backs will do the required job. IB is paying the price for not recruiting a rufty tufty CB, a la Brian Stubs/Strodder, to do the nasty work. He had too much faith in Rawlinson (not tall enough) and Lacey (too light weight). Most other aspects IB good. Fingers remain crossed ...

I don't think he sounded shaken up at all, just gave an honest opinion of the game, without him actually saying that his players were cr@p

I agree with AC, I think he did sound less than his normal composed self.

It’s like deja-vu - all these comments about us needing more physical, mentally tougher and nastier players….we were saying this two years ago…hell, even Maurice Ross said it in his one and only interview for the club! Yet we’re still signing wet lettuce players who can’t stand up to the rigours of the league when the going gets tough.

IB has a lot of good qualities, and I can see why his former clubs fans, and even ours like him so much, but let’s be honest, we’re barely any better (if any in terms of results) than we have been since our relegation. The same problems persist, which is mind boggling…..is this the owners meddling or the manager’s incompetence?

IB should get the rest of the season to turn this round but do we really want to see another season of ‘Burchball’? Is anyone convinced that another year at the helm would see us progress into a tougher unit? If, as I expect, we suffer a similar defeat in the playoffs as to the one witnessed last night, I think he should leave at the seasons end.

Luke Garrard has shown he understands how to get a team performing in this league.

Really frustrated with IB this morning, time and again we're lightweight and easy to score against but never addresses it. The players at this level can't play like Man City all game as they don't have the ability, infact some of them go missing for alot of the game. We're still weak in centre mid and then brings in Brunt, not what we needed. Rawlinson needs to be at the back with Cameron. We still can't defend set pieces. Wootton needs to sort himself out, if it's not on the edge of the six yard box for him he's useless. As others say we're alright beating teams who don't press with no aggression 6-1 but any team who has something about them we look second best. We're crap away and nothing is being done to address this. I think we're in dreamland if we think we're going up in the playoffs, are we doing to beat top teams away with a passionate crowd in a knock out game? Not likely we'll probably go missing again. The players need to grow some balls and IB needs to start doing much better in the games that matter.

We've got a really tough March, who's to say we'll even make the playoffs. The Reedtz need to have a look at this unless they want to be pissing around in this division for another few years.
