It's true though isn't it? It's literally McNulty or Clark as we have no one else. Guys can berate the manager for persevering with both of them all they want, but he literally has no choice. He was clearly told January was a cost cutting exercise and we had to lose 'x amount' of players to balance the books and we are suffering as a result. If we're being honest with ourselves, if ever there was a time to do that, it was January. We had enough points in the bag to make relegation unlikely given how far St. Johnstone were behind us. We needed to try & balance the books at some point, so I'm reckoning January was as good a time as any. We've done it and here we are, still top six. We have McNulty, Harkes, Sporle, Biamou & Hoti all out of contract in the summer. Most, if not all, will leave, so hopefully we can then start to build a squad that is capable of putting on performances as well as picking up points.

By months I assume you mean both windows this season? January yes, the summer, I'd disagree. We brought in Niskanen who is playing really well just now, Levitt who is the most important player in this team, Mulgrew who has been part of a rock solid defence for the most part, and Carson who was an excellent back up. McNulty was a poor choice and Biamou even worse. Not enough to merit the recruitment being branded 'sh*t' though. As I've said above, January was poor in terms of bringing players in to improve us this season but we have a wages to turnover ratio of 132%, up from 120% the year before. If something isn't done about that then it will be the club that's in the 'sh*t' as opposed to the recruitment being sh*t.

On current form we must be odds on to finish 10th, think that's at least £300k of a difference in prize money from 6th, big chunk to be losing out on, especially given how tight is to 4th

On current form, we'll actually finish 5th.

Umm, okay. I'll try and make sense of this.

You think Mulgrew, despite us having the 5th best defensive record in the league, is sh*t because he's 37?

No idea what you're trying to say in your next two points.

McNulty & Biamou I've already said were poor.

Niskanen we both agree with has been decent.

I assume you're looking for a 100% recruitment success rate? If so, you're going to be waiting an infinitely long time.

What exactly have you told Mark to do?

Are the other players in tangerine aware of this?

Still stick by this post. I was hoping when he got fit he would produce the goods. He is now seemingly fit (he does run aboot a bit) but........... it's just no happenin'.

In sayin' that, Shanks was either no good enough for the big league, or we couldn't supply him with the proper ammo...

Similar situation maybe, but, I'm still no convinced we McNulty.

Where have I said I'm accepting of eye bleeding football? I'm trying to debate the recruitment policy with you but you're veering off in all sorts of different directions.

On the 14th October that was my view and it's not changed.

Agreed Shedka. Do not write him off. Once he's back & gets scoring he'll prove to be a decided asset. There are not many strikers out there with his pedigree. And Yeats, I think he is a Dundee United man, I'm liking his attitude. And as Shedka says it's McNulty we've to thank for getting Biamou here. 38 goals they combined in one of Coventry's promotion years. Get fit soon Marc McNulty.
