Was there a ticket offer today? 6,943 doesn't make sense being around 1.300 more than both the last Saturday home game and the promotion clash with Halifax. I doubt Yeovil brought many either. It's the 5th highest of 16 home league gates this season.

Away from home I would play Lacey in front of a back four.
With five across the middle with one upfront
Be hard to breakdown and counterattack where I’m sure we have enough.
Then you give yourselves a chance to win whilst not conceding and a lot of firepower on the bench to change the system if he wants..
There was always the saying that if you win your home matches and pick points away from home then you won’t be far away

I would say our problem is still some kind of intangible ‘just don’t win games’ thing rather than today’s performance particularly though.

Only Notts promotion side I’ve seen under Cotterill put in some absolutely ****e performances towards the end of that season but kept winning 1-0. Our last two home games the opposition have created a grand total of **** all between them going forward and we’ve still managed to give them both a goal by doing something idiotic.

I posted earlier there was no way there was 6,900 there with 200 odd from Yeovil. The last home match I I think I said there was probably 4,500 there and they said there was 5,600 there. I know all the season ticket holders are counted whether they are there or not, but there is definitely some creative accounting going on! Around 5000 tops for me today.

    Yes.

The fact is that Cotterill's team could mix it and didn't over-complicate things. Today we saw (again) what happens when your players are lacking a bit of confidence and taking that extra touch, but you still ask them to play out from the back too often. Inevitably it breaks down in dangerous areas and we go from looking like a good (albeit 'nice') team to a bit of a mess.

On the plus side, the goal gave a pointer to what we should be doing more often. One good, direct set piece into the box and a solid header from Lacey. One pass, one header, one goal after 90 minutes' worth of faffing about on the edge of the box to no avail.

We need a Plan ''A'', first.
