    My take

We as humans are very narrow minded and bigoted.
For instance most football fans will only read reviews about their own club, they think that most journalist's and commentators are biased towards them.
Conservative voter's will read right wing papers and Labour voter's will read left wing papers, ( if they can find any.) They believe what they read must be true.
Same with religious people, Christians read the Bible, Muslims read the Koran, everything they read in those books are totally correct because someone wrote it.
I was brought up by my parents never to take anything or anyone at face value. Always look at different perspectives, ask questions. If someone doesn't like you they aren't necessarily wrong or bad people, look for a reason they don't like you. If someone has a different opinion, look at it from their point of view not your own.
So although the world is correct to condemn Russian aggression, and the pictures coming back from Ukraine are heart breaking, we haven't been exactly innocent ourselves in the past, or the recent past. The invasion of Iraq by US and UK forces without a declaration of war was also against the wishes of the UN and most EU nations. But it was okay because it was our lot and we only targeted terrorist cells and no civilians were killed or made homeless. Countries like Russia and China tend not to tell the truth to their people, we are a little more honest, but there is still a lot of things we aren't told or are misinformed over.
Putin's aggression against Ukraine is because he knows he can get away with it without causing WW3. That's because us and the US got away with it in Iraq.
So while his actions are deplorable and rightly condemned the seeds had already been sown by others, insomuch that if you don't agree with how a country is being run then invade it and create your own government. The human race has brought about wonderful things in science, medicine and technology, our brains full of aggression and bigotry are still in the stone age.
I was blessed to be brought up by fair minded parents.

But we are evolving....less people die in the modern world from war then at anytime in the recorded past.....less people seem to want war today then in the past...except keyboard warriors........Individually people are very advanced.....but collectively and in society governments want to have a war...which is the stone age brain by so called leaders......
But evolution rolls on and it gets its own way in the end......
In the east...you most likely know that your government is lieing to you....where as in the west....it is more difficult to know when the governments are untruthful to you.....which is most times.....

We are evolving - technologically yes, to the advancement of industries such as health, food production, transport and communications. Culturally/morally - i'm not so sure, we seem to have become more selfish, materialistic, offended and desperate for likes on social media platforms. I'll never be able to fathom how some leaders in this world and the super rich who could end hunger & poverty don't do more to end human suffering.

There’s a massive lack of self evaluation these days WCV.

I include myself in this until very recently, I realised I had become someone I no longer liked.

I’m trying to do better, it’s a pity that others who hold massive power and wealth don’t do the same.

The world is awash with sociopaths and narcissists from top to bottom both in wealth and social standing terms.

Social Media ( in my opinion ) is the driver of this and I believe it’s the worst single tool that’s ever been invented, the work of the devil himself.

Recently I was introduced to the term “Gaslighting”
The term is not new but was to me. The worldwide communications systems is a great tool for it.

Isn’t it funny most of Europe is far far more sympathetic to Ukrainian refugees than African or Syrian refugees
I’ve even heard reporters saying we didn’t imagine this in collided countries

Is it down to boundaries of continent? After all those are clearly defined borders that we as humans should stick too aren’t they?
Or is it due to people looking similar to the majority?

    Funny isn’t it ?

But it’s not that anyone sees colour or that brown n black peo0e get treated differently is it ?
I mean how dare they expect equality coming from the s h i t holes they do

I blame the footballers that take a knee every Saturday
Why the f can’t they just know their place
Life has a pecking order n it’s set in stone

The pecking order is set in stone by the ruling elite not by nature.....
When nature hits the reset button........there ain't nothing or nobody that will get in the way.....everything else in your above post is just down to how you may perceive your tribe to be....and if anybody looks differently.......that can influence your underlying prejudices.....

Social Media isn't all bad Mick - take institutional child abuse by the Catholic Church and others for example, I firmly believe that it's through the ease by which information can now be shared that these b'stards can no longer hide from the truth.

As for self awareness, you'd have to lay your soul bare on SM to get to the truth of how you're perceived and very few do that so one has to look elsewhere. It leads to what is termed "confirmation bias" due to algorithms and for this it is the worst - take Ukraine for example, the virtue signalling is unbelievable. Unless you're actively helping their cause in some way, putting a flag on your bio is utterly pointless and almost no-one speaks of the very difficult lives ordinary Russian citizens now endure.

Look at this guy - Dmitry Utkin he’s in charge of the Russian defence contractors (Warner group)

I’m guessing he’s helping Putin get the Nazis out of Ukraine, oh wait a minute ……..
