26 players on an average of 1.5k a week is a smidge over 2 million a year in squad wages. My understanding is that the salary cap will be 900k next season unless I am mistaken. Something does not add up.
It has been mooted but not yet agreed. Seems loke an attempt to level the playing field for the part timers and less well supported clubs.

Wrexham Stockport and Chesterfield all want to hope they go up this season then or it could get very interesting indeed. I dread to think the size of Wrexham and Stockports in particular probably 4m plus.

Well only 2 of them can, at most, obviously. There could be some serious wage trimming going on next season. Alternatively (and more likely) the NL will back down to the bigger teams and set the cap at a higher level. Depends on who's voting for it, I suppose.

The NL seem to want a cap of @ 900,000, we'd prob want a cap of @ 2,000.000. maybe 1,500,000 would be reasonable? If Stockpot or Rectum do remain in the NL, how exactly do you make them immediately work within a cap when they already have players under contract?

**** 'em, Gumpy, make them sell players. Although I suspect they will just start to employ a bit of creative accounting....

Cannot see £900 000 being a figure that will work.
The National league is so close now to being recognised as the 5th division, it would be madness to bring in a cap that size as it would not attract good players.

If every club can employ ''a bit of creative accounting'' To get round any wage cap that's introduced, then there's not much point in bringing one in, is there? Any wage cap, IMHAHO, needs to reflect any individual club's turnover.

Suppose it depends if bonuses are included in the wage cap. Particularly if clubs offer bonuses such as '£100k upon first game played for the club in League 2'.

All Notts players should be on a basic grand a week with win bonuses, clean sheet bonuses, goals scored bonuses boosting their wages. That way we might see a bit of urgency on the field instead of the lethargic dross of the last few games...

Yeah. Imagine if they were in receipt of those payments. Good job none of them are.

If the NL does implement a wage cap, how will it be policed? Is it based on basic alone? As others have said you could pay each player a basic or 700-800 a week. Those that play then get an appearance fee. Goals, wins and clean sheet bonuses. It could soon get messy. Could you give a player a golden hand shake? ‘Contract is 700 a week, we will pay you 50k to sign on. Then there are these other cheeky match based bonuses. As your contract is 3 years we will pay you the 50k on each anniversary - unless of course we are promoted, in which case we will revise the terms of the contract to your benefit. Sign here’
