I’m scared of nuclear war...of mad politicians and pandemics...but I think it’s highly unlikely I’d be scared of anyone on here in real life let alone over the Internet. Don’t be so ridiculous.
He does scare you. Classic quiet lad whose scared to get picked on. Your ex education and must have seen it hundreds of times.
I'll say nothing, agree with him now and again, but he intimidates me.
    Jelly fish comes to mind.

I’m no longer sure what you’re talking about. Who’s the ‘classic quiet lad...scared to get picked on’?
How can anyone be ‘intimidated’ on here? I often agree with Swale at his best...which invariably, I’m happy to say, involves disagreeing with you and GP.
Beyond that...what’s he going to do...asterisk me to death?

Moving away from the forum silliness and back to the madness that actually matters...Sky reporting that of the 1.5 million refugees just fifty (50!) have been granted visas to enter the UK. Can this be true?

Difficult one an not sure what the reason for that is if true or what the answer is, but at the end of the day we're a small island and there's far more other countries that are bigger and ultimately closer than the UK, we're already bursting at the seams and there's a risk that some and probably a lot of them might not want to go back, might not even have anything to go back to if Russia controls Ukraine much like when some Poles didn't want to go back to Poland after the war to ruled by the USSR, I don't know what the answer is but we should do all we can

Maybe - 50 out of how many applicants is more relevant surely? UK is hardly first place of refuge for those fleeing the conflict. If we were turning them down, I'd be concerned, but if no-one wants to come here as first choice it wouldn't surprise me

yet the prediction is 60 000 will come by rubber boat this year(sorry Andy, the comaprison has to be made)
If the Ukrainians have family here. Straight in, their country is at war.
I will show every effort to help the Ukraine att he moment.
I don't support those spending thousands to cherry pick.
Refugees here are identifiable and urgent

I saw on the beeb this morning a Minister say that 50 visas have been granted and that more than 5000 others were being dealt with in Calais.

Sets it out quite well. Scheme only up and running this weekend online and loads of "in progress" applications, but the turning away of people in person in Calais is of concern, although there has to be some sort of rudimentary "DBS check" I suppose.

How very unusual for the frogs to try to start up the blame the British lietmotif so quickly 😀

In a nutshell...no need for talk of ‘Frogs’ and ‘rubber boats’. There is a common enemy and what we need is unity.
