I have no issue with what she believes in, she can believe in what she wants. Faced with the press though in the running for the biggest job in Scottish politics you just would have thought someone would have had a quiet word with her.
If anyone was out to spike her campaign before it begun they have done an excellent job.
It is most certainly poor pickings to take over from Sturgeon. I knew the well was dry, but hadn't realised it was drought conditiions
I’m afraid, to quote blin lemon, that was obvious to a blind man wi a glass bool in his erse.
Sturgeon herself was hardly more capable than a senior toon cooncillor when it came to delivery, despite the fawning adulation. Freedom is only for those outside her husband’s party. The 2015 conference diktat saw to that.
The Party has an ingrained habit of talking in fluffy abstracts about independence, equality, fairness etc probably due to being a minor player in the country who, like the Greens, felt that after 1979 they were destined to be on the margins. The genie was finally freed from the bottle in 2014, and the SNP cannot seem to change from being a campaigning and protest group to a governing party. Their ‘operational’ record might be compared with any of the recently-sacked managers in the Premiership, but like Napoleon and Squealer in Animal Farm, we are warned to comply, or Mr Jones might come back in the form of the Toaries, somewhat at odds with the mantra that dear auld Scotia hasn’t elected a majority for that party since 1955.
You elect and promote slavish toadies straight out of education, like the sheep in Animal Farm too dense or feart of not achieving status or patronage, and you’re left with the detritus and garbage like Kevin Stewart and John Mason, and unimpressive individuals vying for the top job.
Ash Regan? I wid.
And that’s fit I think.

It's never the good practices that you read about in msm though:
"SCOTLAND has “blazed a trail” in areas of health policy, chief medical officer for England Sir Chris Whitty has said."

Cannot disagree with the severe lack of talent in Scottish politics though
Is The National not just The Party’s fanzine though?
Ironically beloved by very few readers now, who seem not to realise that it’s a publication owned and produced by the “yooooooon” “Toary” Herald? Capitalism diversifying to exploit as usual.
I tend to trust my own antennae by absorbing news sources from across the political spectrum and looking quite closely at verified data produced on ‘operational’ matters. It’s not a pretty picture from both neo-liberal governments under whose yoke I’m imprisoned.
I’ve always liked the (admittedly-illiberal) quote from Harry Lime, “You know what the fellow said—in Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, and they had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.”
And a cardboard box with a couple of infant picture books, a half dozen frenchies, and some fanny pads, let’s not forget.
