Brin, I think the hindsight point is overdone. JJ's quality was a known quantity. Kelly's injury is a red herring as PW has stated he was not ready for the first team. I posted several times that after Ladapo's transfer request dated 6th January it would be crazy to rely on him. In January there were several pieces in the press suggesting the need for a new striker and so far as I am aware a deal for Stockton was on the cards.

Onto what we do know. Kayode for all his heart and endeavour, simply ain’t our answer to our Centre forward line just yet. Big game yesterday but never got a look in.

Ogbene and Miller didn’t start yesterday because our physio told Warne if you start them they risk Hamstring injury. This is where Warne should have stood tall and played them Ala Warnock style over Frecklington.

Oggy gets a full second half and now he’s been called up for International duty so no rest for him. There comes a time when a Manager should stand tall and proud and make those key decisions and play his best starting 11 but, where was that Manager yesterday?

January transfer window? Same old Rotherham always the Scrooge of the league? Hindsight, it’s a bugger ain’t it.

I don't think Grigg being out makes much difference. Ladapo he's not a player who when it's not going right will turn things round. I'm baffled by Tu tu loan signing can't have seen him play cause you wouldn't have brought him here if you had. Rest of season 3-6-1 Vickers; Edmonds-Green Ihiekwe Harding; Chieo Lindsay Rathbone Barlaser Wiles Miller; Smith. Lindsay cause he'll battle.

    Too many players with problems
    Barlasser off at HT
    Rathbone not trained all week
Cheio and Miller clearly not fit as per their performance yesterday
    Angus sent off
    That's 50% of our outfield

Having said that we could have played Harding, Lindsey and Mattock

Wendun, I had it from a good source the £500,000 was there waiting to be collected by Morecambe but, the 11th hour comes around and it’s taken off the table and we sign an injured on a freebie, good old Rotherham always shopping in Lidl.

Recipe for disaster yday. Mcdonald, barlaser, ollie clearly not match fit. Smudge, wiles running on empty. Debatable if ferguson, ogbene, kayode, miller fit as well. Even our vickers suddenly sat down.We were basically knacked before we started. The type of game warne plays does not lend itself to the size of our squad. The 2 players brought in didnt strengthen it in jan. 7 games in april now given our showing at a similat stage last season it dunt bode well BUT if we can scrape 10 more points we could still do it. Mk dons have not got an easy finish and we could do with the shrews upsetting them in a couple o weeks.

Letting Tilt go to Wigan was crazy.
I don't think getting tangled up in the tinpot trophy is the key factor but it is significant given how we manage games.

For Warne closing down the opposition coupled with delivering a huge quantity of crosses into the box at the earliest opportunity is his modus operandi . He relies on a lungbusting effort in the first half , hoping that our strikers will take two or three chances in this period, making the game safe for when the team inevitably tires.
Playing that style of football in meaningless cup fixtures when players are more prone to injury at the end of the season has impacted on our form.

You could argue that this is more to do with how Paul Warne's game management. I would accept that. Managers like Cotteril and Appleton are clever managers at this level. They are tactically superior to Warne. It was clear after five minutes of the game that Shrewsbury's game plan was to clog up space on the flanks and stop the supply. Warne had no answer to this because he really only has one stylee of play.He is not a tactician.

I stand by what I said that the tinpot trophy has had a negative impact on our season but add the caveat " given our style of play and the manager's lack of flexibility"

Warne may be unable to change the style of play over night but he can drop Angus Macdonald immediately. What a shocking decision to select a player whose rash decision making has been the only stand out part of his game since he signed for us.

Just an observation on Shrewsbury,s fouling
I thought they were excellent at it and were subtle enough to escape the wrath of the referee
I think there was only one example in the second half where they blatantly body checked Chieo

I thought they fouled JJ in the lead up to their first but they got away with it
Many teams in the cship are good at subtle fouls and we could learn a lot from their display yesterday
We,re far too obvious when we do it

We can't turn back the clock ,what happened yesterday is history. The important thing is that we learn from the mistakes we made. The break is a blessing we badly need. The management team must give us more options in our formation because the last three opposition managers knew exactly what our plan would be.We must have more variation in our play as we have been so predictable and are being sussed. We are still in a good position to get the job done because we have some real talent here, they just need arranging in to the winning mode.

Be delighted to even though I have already sent them £50 in advance when I made the bett earlier in the season ) I can prove this ( I have an email receipt labelled "Millers Mad Bet")

I know the cynics on here won't go for that so I will gladly donate another £25 ( even though I am not on a lawyers wages).

Maybe I was a bit brusque with how I raised the bet earlier in the season, which was an opportunity lost to raise money for our fantastic hospice. Be delighted to get a second opportunity

How do you want to do this Kerr, do you want me to PM you the receipt at the seasons end?

Alternatively could CAM set up a page on here where all digital receipts to the hospice can be filed?
