Well, I took the spelling from the Cambridge English Dictionary which gives both forms. Blame them not me! I don't think the "increased labour costs" argument holds water in the P&O case. Many made redundant were skilled and well-paid. According to press reports their replacements are are on less than £3 an hour.

ELK, it was reported that the replacement "workers" were already in Minibuses near the docks ready to move in. So they must have been in the UK already.......As immigrants can't work until they get permission to stay here, where the f*uck have they come from to accept £1.81 a hour??
