I enjoy it and let's just say certain people bring it on themselves with their consistent comments and opinions about Notts.
Let's not pretend mocking and belittling isnt commonplace and almost universal on here. The only difference is my target isn't the manager, players, club which obviously is fair game and encouraged. It doesn't seem the same rules apply when it's about posters on here
As for the mission you mentioned it has been a success to date IMO clear progress made but a long way to go. A bit like Notts![]()
But yet again someone who wants to has blatantly taken this off subject earlier in the thread. The Notts debate started by ACs question was actually a good one, have we made progress over recent seasons? Was his measure of progress or not (points totals) a fair one? Is the current squad better or worse than the one in 2019/20? Is IB an upgrade on NA?
All good Notts based questions, just what I like. Don't blame me if durhampie is allergic to being positive.
Maybe we can get back to the original topic. Let's see......
Massive progress has been made.
* Infrastructure of the club
* Stability and signs of a consistent philosophy and model in place
* A good squad of players that has been with the club, with additions, for more than two years
* A clear move towards youth and technical ability in our signings
* Our relationship with fans and other clubs in getting quality players to join Notts. The re-signing of Sam Graham shows that players enjoy coming to Notts
* Although it has weaknesses, we have an attractive and often exciting style of play
* Stable, non hysterical owners.
That’s just off the top of the head. There are problems, but mainly only isolated ones on the pitch…the stubbornness to change tack sometimes and the lack of a steely resistance are the main concerns but in truth we’re probably not far off being a top side in this division.
Ironically, as a club, we’re probably in a better position off the pitch now than we have ever been since I’ve been going to Notts.

Understand what your saying. Although, in terms of second best, we could finish 7th and still get promoted.
Like everyone else(although there are folk that like to have something to moan about), I want us out of this league ASAP. However, despite the league we’re in, I enjoy going to Meadow Lane, the style of football and the overall direction the clubs moving in.
I’m not accepting where we’re at. But, I understand the steps being taken and when, not if, we return the FL we’ll be in a much stronger position to kick on.
Ian Burchnall is integral to our progression and we’ve definitely progressed from last season.
At the surprise of absolutely nobody I echo KKs thoughts and on a personal level it's a little annoying that I'm not getting to witness the entertaining and successful football being played at the Lane under IB.
Instead I'll have to make do with seeing less entertaining and successful games away from Nottingham lol. But that's real life, some times more important things get in the way of football watching at the San Sirrel. Plus I have and a good run over the years
I know at least one person on here who bizarrely claims that he believes the owners are happy with finishing in the playoffs in NL each season but I honestly don't believe any true Notts fan is accepting the level the club is at currently. I'm sure we are all very keen to get out of this unacceptable division for us to be operating in but we can't just magic our way there unfortunately. The club need to and has put the building blocks in place and have a plan to progress and that has to start with getting promoted out of a competitive league where only the very best deservedly go up automatically.
We should be a L1 club and to be that we need to be run correctly, have sufficient financial support, a talented manager and a plan. Not a short term plan, not an unachievable plan that we've seen more than once before but a sensible medium term plan.
The perfect answer!....some of the football played this season has been the most enjoyable that I've witnessed in the 50 years of watching Notts and after watching the performance v B/Wood I'm feeling confident of a good finish to the season....a lot of players are finding form at the right moment (thought the Ruben/Wooten partnership was superb) and with the run in we've got there's no reason why we can't look at top 3!!
.....but this being Notts!!![]()
