    Not true - nobody can be a 'member of DSA' as DSA is an association of supporters' clubs.

    Individuals are members of supporters' clubs and the clubs, in turn, are affiliated to DSA.

    Your explanation is correct.
    However the past Chairman of the DSA used to say that the DSA had over 1,000 members which is technically not correct.
    It has as far as I am aware 36 member supporters clubs including a Dundee supporters club in Gozo Malta and a Kalispell Cammy Kerr Dark Blues supporters club in America.

    He used to say that and often used it as a bargaining chip in meetings with John Nelms when trying to curry favour (keep his freebies) until I pointed out just how wrong he was.
