For me was the play off win against Swansea
The atmosphere that night was unbelievable and one that I reckon hasn’t been beaten yet although a couple have come close
After coming out the first game at Swansea wet cold and totally p155ed off to coming out the Hawthorns a few days later euphoric
The one memory that’ll live long in the memory was being on a packed out Brummie boing boinging and feeling the stand actually moving beneath your feet
Brilliant brilliant night that night
The 3-2 FA Cup win v Man Utd in 78 and the 2-0 win v a world class Valencia side as a close second.
One that comes readily to mind was beating Man U with Best, Charlton etc 6-3. It was so great just watching that particular side
Got to be the 1966 2nd leg 4-1 win over West Ham.
Cutting down Clough's mighty Forest in March 1978 in the 2-0 win in the FA Cup. That atmosphere was never bettered
A difficult one but have to agree with Q165, the 6-3 victory over Man. Utd. must be up there with the best. Full house and football we can only dream about now. Also, the scoreline flattered United as they scored two late goals to make the result look more respectable.
For me a more recent one, the great escape game, don’t think that atmosphere could ever be repeated, such a joy and it felt almost like the whole ground itself was alive.
Two good shouts.
One that often slips under the radar is the 4-3 win over United in around 1971. Tony Brown scored a hat trick. They went one up, we went two one up, they equalised, we went three two up, they equalised. John Wile got the winner with a towering header just before time.
Still probably the 4-2 win v Spurs after being 0-2 down at half time. One of the best 2nd halves I've seen up there. 70's I think?
