When Football Clubs Don't Use Loan Players

Just reading Newcastle United have recalled a player, after the player not even got
any game time, with the club he joined on loan.
On deadline day in the transfer window, Shrewsbury Town did a last minute loan deal
for 19 year old left back Matthew Bondswell , from Newcastle United.
Bondswell made no appearances for Shrewsbury Town, sitting on the bench for 11
    games in a row.
So Newcastle United decided to recall the player, & have played him in the under 23's
side, to give him him game time.
Bondswell is said to be a player for the future, so his parent club sent him out to get
some game time, & gain match day experience, which he did not get.

Clearly wasn't needed against us or Morecambe. On a broader note, I assume that in the loan agreement is a percentage of game time/games? If so, then due diligence needed that the loan player is up to or able to get up to standard sooner rather than later otherwise they'd weaken rather than augment the team taking them on?

Premiership club Tottenham Hotspur, are furious with league one side Charlton Athletic,
for the handling of 19 year old central midfielder Nile John, who is on loan at Charlton.
Nile John has not played a single minute of first team football, since joining Charlton in
    January 2022.
Tottenham are extremely dissatisfied with the club failing to deliver on their promises,
that the player would be involved more often, but the player has not featured in any of
their 12 league one matches, since his arrival. Failing to make the matchday squad
    altogether on 8 occasions.
Nile John had been playing well for Tottenham's under 23's, in which he scored 7 goals,
with 3 assists in 14 games.
With nothing to play for, it would seem Charlton Athletic would give some game time
    to the player.

If they are not doing job they were brought in for why play them? Tu tu here isn't but we've got a manager here who doesn't like to ruffle feathers!

Some clubs ( not necessarily us) have budgets that can’t support a full squad. So as insurance they loan players hoping the parent club pays a significant part of their wages, using the player as insurance for a regular team member. This sort of works but if the regular player stays fit then the loan “ insurance” player doesn’t actually play but just sits on the bench.

Some parent clubs insist that their player plays a significant number of times otherwise they don’t contribute to his wages.

I suspect ( but just my own view) that we got Blackman this way, which is why we saw him play in preference to Johannson and Vickers.

It’s highly possible that it could be why we are seeing Tutu starting games for us

All the more reason to make sure they are good loans then rather than gap fillers Grist. Some of our loans have been poor & a waste of good money.

I seem to recall we had a few loans like this in the SE era.
    Played once and then binned

    What you on about ?
Are you saying he should be playing, or he shouldn't, or is it just yet another childish dig at the manager?
