Away draw at Wigan and home draw with Portsmouth have nicely illustrated where we're at as a team - able to compete at the top of this division despite injuries to key players, but lacking steel in the defence and midfield which has been sacrificed to try to play more "attractive football".

Obviously we'd love to have a Declan Rice or Patrick Viera in the middle or a Virgil Van Dijk to partner Santos at the back so if anyone knows where we can find that quality currently playing non-league for £500 a week please drop Ian Evatt a line.

Overall it's been a great season albeit a rollercoaster ride. The footie's been very entertaining, the team has developed and for a first season back in this league we've stabilised - with the basis of a team that could put up a promotion challenge next year with a handful of additions.

Over 12,000 season tickets for next season sold already - and that tells a story.
