I wonder if you can still be on here if you are a division below. There would be no point of reference for you.
Portuguese 2nd Div most of the time...Gaulds calibre...what would that be

The point I am making is that it is quite often Scotland pick players because they play for clubs who yes are positionally higher hence perceiving them to be better players. Gauld like many players played at all levels for Scotland but couldn’t make it to the senior squad, had he transferred to either of the ugly sisters, or EPL he would have been a shoo-in for a cap; like Ryan Jack who got his move from Aberdeen, but a very ordinary player, without an original footballing thought in his head. I like players like your own Charlie Adam, he has the guts and creative spark to do something different, maybe not so much now and probably a bit wasteful with his career, if he kept himself in shape, he would be much better. A young CA playing for Dundee would not get in the Scotland team. I could go on, but work beckons, but final example of the bias is NATHAN Paterson, barely gets a game in any team he has been at, injured now; but deemed worthy of a Scotland cap, how does that work? Any other player, playing regularly and as good as (again opinions) wouldn’t get a look in.

How on earth would you know where Gauld has played the best football of his career? Have you been following his career abroad? The fact he won the 2019-20 LigaPro Player of the Year award in Portugal, went on to be Farenses player of the year once they were promoted and is favourite to land newcomer of the year award in 2022's Major Soccer League would probably suggest it wasn't at Tannadice.

Mind you i think its a good thing that Peter not only has a vast knowledge of the current United side but also still follow's the career path's of former stars of Tannadice who have long since flown the nest.

He puts my knowledge of former funsters to shame,i have no idea how former Dens Park stars Jordon Forster,Josh Meekings and Callum Moore are getting on or who they even play for these days.

He was able to tell us how many goals Clark had scored this season too. I couldn't even tell you 6 players from their starting lineup at the weekend, nevermind which of their players had scored 6 goals this season.
