    Next season's kit!

Whoever makes the final decision on next season's kit design please let's get back to a traditional navy blue and white striped shirt and white shorts. While this season's kit was OK it wasn't a WBA kit. How about a revamp of the 1960's Jeff Astle era strip. Youngsters may have a different view but as far as I'm concerned let's stick to what is recognised as an Albion shirt and don't mess about with silly designs. To my mind it would be a first move in the right direction.

I work in the sports trade.

I can tell you this will have been designed and signed off months ago, probably last September.

As always the design will be based on whatever styling cues the brand in question is using throughout their range, if they’re putting hearts and flowers on their stuff that’s what you’ll be getting in navy blue and white.

The hopes and wishes of a fan base are the last thing that gets considered when designing a kit.

I hear what you're saying mick and agree in the majority of cases. However, there are some clubs who don't adhere to the manufacture design for that season and have a unique strip of their own. With your knowledge of the trade am I correct with this observation.

    No Leicester,

If you have your kit made by a major brand you have to follow their styling cues to a large extent.

Unless you do your own crap brand like Pelada as we did in the 90’s and our designs were still
    awful.

Pelada wasn't our own brand if I remember correctly nor were scoreline, but I think "baggies" was ours.

Being that you're in the trade mick, I'd be interested to know what style you would choose. I realise that it is basically an age thing but I personally prefer a 'no frills' style and the kit reasonably plain.

Judging by this thread alone we all have different tastes. I am a traditionalist and prefer the smaller blue and white stripes, on full sleeves as well. White shorts and blue and white hooped socks. Pure class.
For a second strip all red. No need for a third strip nothing would clash with those two, you could spend the money you save on a third shirt on a Burger and Chips or a pint of beer from inside the ground.

Regarding third strips, just money grabbing. Absolutely no need for them as long as you make the change strip completely different to the club colours. As you say '55, all red would suit.

I know why our very old fans prefer the narrow stripes that hark back to the 60’s.

For me the iconic strip was the Umbro one with the wider stripes we wore in the mid to late 70’s.

I’d prefer to see a modern twist on that design with the white shorts and white socks with navy trim.

I’d also like to see navy shorts and navy socks with white trim as an occasional use option with the home shirt for certain away matches like we used in the 70’s.

The away kit would generally be the wider panelled yellow and green kit with green shorts to mirror the late 70’s kit.

Although it was an iconic day, whoever decided pale blue shorts went with the yellow and green shirt in 75-76 needs leading to Specsavers!
