The opportunity to return some sort of pre-1959 balance was lost in the mid 2000s when they dropped into the 3rd tier and we were fannying about with the trust experiment. If Fword go up, I doubt we'll get another.

There will always be a Notts County of some sort so long as football is still played in this country, but there is a real danger we will now become about as relevant in Nottingham as Park Avenue have become n Bradford.
